I wouldn't hate that, either, but to be fair, Kleber CAN play center.

I agree. Our goal of our center slot is defending the most physical player so KP doesn’t have to. We don’t mind having the option for him to, but we don’t want the necessity of it.

That’s what Powell was good at along with the other skills he brought. And Boban is just not more than a gimmicky guy who is awesome at what he is awesome at.

So I agree with the both of you, KP and Kleber CAN play the center. And will. But we need not wear them down by over relying on them. Granted we will have Powell back, and we have the smaller Johnson/Bey in the mix, and the league has gotten smaller, but I still think in 2011 our center depth played a huge role in our championship and want to see us repeat that strategy to some degree.

So unless we get some kind of stand out player at another position, I’m just waiting to hear who the player is who wants to take on this role at the ~5M salary we are offering.

Knicks waived him just to resign him....

This is even funnier when you realize Payton's option was for 1 million and the Knicks declined it.
With the money drying up Mavs could probably get WCS back with a small raise from his bird rights and still have MLE for another player (this would mean JJB isn't back). They probably won't do this which is kind of sad. I suspect WCS/Mavs aren't a fit for whatever reason (besides money) and Mavs will use their 6 mil on whoever they think is the best big left.

Well they´ll need at least one veteran point guard to occasionally make a reasonable play in between DSJ and Ntilikina, but that clearly points to them thinking they could get Rondo or some other veteran. Seems Knicks are still seen as a destination around the league. Dodgy
What in the world are the Knicks doing? Are they going to sign anybody big?

Cow, I want to see WCS back for the express purpose of watching you cry. I don't believe in karma, but I believe in justice.

Seems like you also believe in bad basketball players.  I will not cry though.

His option was for $8 million.

The main thing is the very real possibility that Dwight Powell is a shell of his former self and KP only plays maybe 30% of Mavs games next year.

If WCS is a bad basketball player, when in a year often called his worst he was 8th among the 100 or so centers in this league in DRPM, then there must not be very many decent basketball players in the NBA.

Torrey Craig was part of their defensive core. I might ask Barrea to slide to a nice comfortable seat, just one row behind the bench.

Burke gets some of the MLE.

Terry is likely to get some of the MLE.

So it sounds like we're likely done outside of one cheap signing for whatever remains of the MLE. WCS type?

Are you counting Barea? Cause I'm at 13

Luka/Brunson/Terry
THJ/Burke/Green
JRich/DFS/
Johnson/Maxi
KP/Boban/Powell

Bey+Hinton on 2-ways.

Why?  He's 29, never shot an average % from 3pt range, shots 60% from the line, doesn't block shots or get steals.

You hang onto that one stat so much that you might as well print it out, frame it and hang it on your wall.  If he was a good basketball player he would have been signed for 10M+ by Detroit.

Did I kick your dog or something?  What karmic injustice did I do to deserve WCS on my team two years in a row?

You're guilty of the same calumnies RC is. All I can do is shake my head.
Only one player left for me to hate on the roster. Sorry Dwight.

Well, when your doctor writes you a prescription for your little dandruff problem, maybe have him refer you to an optometrist.

BBRef and Spotrac said it was for 1 million. Maybe that was just the guaranteed part.
