#2 for Oubre and #10? Phoenix could use a good PG to grow and take after Rubio in 2 seasons. This also gives plenty of cap space to Phoenix for a decent FA like Gallo. GSW can perhaps draft Vassell and they are wing reach all of a sudden. Use 2021 Minny pick to change Wiggins for something less tragic.

We get Harris, Korkmaz plus 2nd and lose THJ, Powell and Wright.  We get to keep Curry?  Where do I sign up.

So let me be clear:

I am a big Korkmaz fan (I would consider this "the Korkmaz trade") so this isn't simply about Tobi (who I am lukewarm on, though think in the right situation has untapped potential).

So you get TWO long, wing players who both have two way potential in this deal. I like that.

I like the deal, but I kinda feel the 2021 second is a bit light. Also, it is my belief that there is no way they keep all those 2020 picks. Maybe a draft day trade that looks one sided Dallas way like #31 for #34 and 36, but then this trade happens after the opt-in and it all makes sense.

They are taking all of our bad salaries, we get a very good player and you are here complaining about that pick Smile  I have a hard time to see Philly actually take this offer, but as a Mavs fan, I am all for it. We would get a hole at SG (I am not such a big Korkmaz fan Smile ), but plenty of ammo left to cover that either in 2020 or 2021.

Yeah, this.

Look, I won't argue with the idea that Harris could be an effective player here, maybe even more effective than we hope. But THAT contract goes a long way towards locking the roster in for a few years, except for MLE's, minimus...AND THE DRAFT.

If I were to consider such a drastic move, I'd need LOTTERY PICKS, since that would become my best and really only way of acquiring good players moving forward.

Maybe it's because I haven't taken the time to consider the cap math clearly, but I feel like you guys are losing your minds right now. Someone help me understand this MADNESS.

Our bad salaries pale in comparison. He's a 19-20 ppg player making superstar salary for 4 more years. Our bad (and much more manageable/tradeable) salaries will be gone long before his (1 year for Powell, 2 for Wright). Harris will be paid $149M (please let that sink in) for the next 4 years while Delon and Powell will be paid a combined $51M over the next 2-3 years. I'd say that requires a bit more compensation than Korkmaz and a second.
Totally agree @"ItsGoTime"

If given the choice between that trade or doing nothing, I'm running back the same team as last year and staying ready to pounce on something better.

If you tell me I can get Ben Simmons in the deal somehow, I'm IN, but that's not happening anytime soon.
I'm going on my faith in Kamm's scouting ability that Korkmaz is a good get too. I do like that he's only 23, bodes well for molding him a bit more in the way RC wants.
What if they offered a Billy King haul? All of this year's picks, plus another couple future FRS's with a pick swap in between?

I will say, I'm closer to Omahen's side of this in that I think Harris would be such a great add to this team as a player and personality (similar to Hayward, but not AS good if Hayward could get close to where he was and signed a smaller contract after next year, or comes to us in the SnT for a smaller contract).

Are you sure they pale. Powell will be making 10 mil per season for next three years and half of the board here thinks he will never be able to play well again. Wright just proved himself useless in playoffs on this team. Those two contracts are movable only with picks attached. THJ was good on one end of the floor, but not really something I would like as a third star. So this gets us 20 ppg player who is decent defensively, very durable and under contract through his prime, plus a young cheap player plus a second round pick. Harris is like a perfect third "star" for this team.

I am sure Mavs would not do this deal if they think they can get Giannis. But what if Giannis is not on the table, what do you think then?
Harris had a rough go in the beginning of his career, but since his first 4 years, he's basically been an ironman. We could use that on this team too!

I think he'd more than hold his own here on both ends of the court. There's a reason someone tricked themselves into offering that contract. But there's also a reason they now desperately want to get rid of it. I think your ability to add other players, even good role players, would be drastically diminished for quite a while.

Philly has more talent (overall) than the Mavs right now, by far, and they realize that they can't move forward and have very little chance to win. It's why they're making huge, expensive front office changes. They need creative minds trying to solve the puzzle before it gets totally out of hand. Part of the problem is that some of their pieces don't fit together like they'd hoped, for sure, but the Horford and Harris contracts are really holding them back, too.

Horford is going to get moved, I bet, but I just don't think anyone wants any part of Harris.
I like Harris..but that contract is terrible and as time goes by immovable ... I'm not sure if he's the guy to lock up with Luka..and he's an average defender ... I'd rather roll the dice 1 year with Hayward, who will likely sign cheaper in the long run and chase Jrue at FA 21

Powell's is for sure the worst of the 2 (between Wright and Powell), and while Harris has been providing something on the court for all his money, man that 5 year deal is pretty stinkin bad.

As far as getting Giannis or not, I'm still on the side of figure it out WHEN he says yes, not before. I mean, Harris and picks for Giannis SnT might not be fully out of the question if Mil is losing Giannis anyway.
