What happened with Delon’s IG? This is all new to me.
I didn’t know he became a malcontent either. I hope that’s not the case, because if he’s not a trade asset he’s still a rotation player for us.

What team were you watching last year, TonyT?
My dude was out of the rotation by the all-star break.

Plan powder is alife and I am slowly dying inside.
Why? Are they not improving the team? Has something happened that you think not doing will end up being a huge mistake?

He cleared all the Mavs related stuff. His brother had been tweeting Delon's unhappiness last season. His playoff usage shows that Carlisle is no fan. MBT, Carlisle and the PGs they trade for, sign via free agency or drat is super sketchy at times.

I like nearly everything they did so far but I would be disappointed if they miss out on a guy like Crowder because they did not offer him a 2nd or 3rd year.

Spending MLE (at least not on one guy) was never an option, since they signed Burke so quickly. My guess is cheap center and Wright trade

I hear you. So far, I feel like they've been mostly great at adding value players on value contracts that they can work around (minus Wright).
I like what they're doing, personally, and remain optimistic.

I remember he didn’t get the starter position but for the bulk of the season he was in the rotation.
honestly I don’t remember the all-star break period. The pandemic is basically a wash out from that time until the playoffs for me. Or from the point that Kobe died I don’t remember anything.
There's really nothing for the Mavs to do here, especially with this free agent class. Making trades has always been their strong suit. Better hope the guys they have now can help Luka enough until the trade deadline. Then, that's where the MBT might be able to make a big move.
I wonder if Bogi was even ever a target. We know Gallo was the primary so that tells you they valued an offensive boost after losing Curry. Bogi seems like a nice fallback plan.

That´s why I don´t understand the Burke deal. Based on the mentioned 3/10 contract he will get slightly more than the vet min.

Depends on what you mean by "rotation"...it was fairly obvious about 20 games in that it wasn't working. Carlisle tried him in a variety of roles, including backup PG, for a long time. After a while, he became like the 10th or 11th man, and when they felt they had to sign Burke right before the bubble, that was a wrap.
Dude just wasn't a fit. Can't win 'em all.

As I said - spending MLE was not their plan
Might be Cuban trying to avoid the luxury tax in the current corona crisis.
oh damn I would've taken Holiday for that deal

IMO, it just means they looked at the options attainable for the full MLE and decided none of them were worth it. If that's the case, and the (slightly) extra dough helped Burke feel loved and excited to be here, win-win.

Delon's contract probably dictated more than the chance he got. This is a major blunder by the MBT and is even worse because it was a panic move from letting Danny Green string you along. Can't just shrug this off.

They are very, very far from lux tax
