Wood is projected to get more than the MLE, no?

Literally word by word.

By many, yes. Others say he's going to get EXACTLY the MLE, and SOME think even that is too much.

I tend to think he'll get more, but my point is that if you're building youthful talent...BUILD YOUTHFUL TALENT.  That's my opinion, anyway.

Haha, the 75 member staff still putting in work for Fish, I guess.

And people said the Mavs were going to strike out...  Angel

Looks like legit, the new Mavs players look older and they traded down. Big Grin
With Morey in Philly you’d think he has the inside track to getting Harden. You know it’s all he’s been thinking about. Harden-Simmons(pun intended) makes sense for both teams. I wonder if 18 to Houston for RoCo could be their best offer
Need to have an offseason that improves us immediately. With KP sidelined, we need to take some steps forward right now. Id keep the #18 for a potential impact player first season, polished player, that might have immediate impact, such as S. Bey or Bane. Then I would use the other pick and some players (THJ, Wright, DFS) to make a move for improving our starting lineup. I am not ready to trade Maxi, as he has positive impact and we are thin on the position. Im ready to trade away KP if that means we can get Giannis.
So ya the Fish article does look similar to what Dan had posted which at the time I thought wasn't necessarily viable. Now I am rethinking it. So as I understand the idea is something like Mavs send Wright/Jax/pick/cash to OKC for Oubre, then OKC buys out Green as well as part of handshake deal that would have DGreen sign with Dallas for the MLE.

It's not bad altho then you have spent your MLE on Green. It's possible you could get Green later on in some sort of buyout scenario. That being said if the Mavs already were in on Oubre then trying to squeeze a Green buyout as a bonus could make sense.

Assuming Houston wants to clean books. Would you do something like THJ+Jackson+#18 for Gordon and RoCo? Gordon is sort of very similar to THJ and RoCo of course gives us additional starter. Unfortunately, this means goodbye to 2021 FA hopes

Youthful would be the preference but you have to be able to sign the player and he has to want to be with the team.

Millsap is a stopgap but probably gettable if you are offering him MLE + an extra the year. The nice thing about Millsap is that he could fill in for KP when he's hurt and would have no issue with a bench role with KP returns.
I don't think the Rockets owner is going to be eager to handover Morey/Sixers his All NBA player.
So it sounds like Dwight Powell is on track for the start of the season. I imagine he will get an opportunity to start with KP out and we will see what he looks like. I think having two spacers as your wings (ie Oubre or Green joining the lineup) will still give you plenty of space with Powell out there. The issue last year was the awkward fit with KP which wouldn't be an issue this season bc I don't think they will play a lot together.
I think the whole being 100% young or 100% old thing is a false dichotomy. My mantra is "What Would Riley Do". Having Dragic and Iggy as veteran rotation players doesn't prevent him from also developing and building around guys like Bam, Duncan and Herro. Do all of the smart things.

Powell's gong to need to be on a heavy minutes restriction and I could see him missing back-to-backs.  We're going to need to make a move to bolster the depth.

No. The Gordon deal is terrible. I’d take Tucker as a throw in. I don’t think RoCo alone prevents a max slot next offseason

Good! Use that time the first two months of the season to show he can still sorta play and then get out from under his contract.

Yes
Didn't Danny Green talk about missing the start of the season because of the quick turnaround, not enough rest? IMO, he sounds like a prime candidate for the Andre Iguodala treatment from last season in MEM. Stay at home, chill. Wait 'til a contender gets desperate and dumps a couple assets for him.
