Remember when the Mavs tried to change the Dragic trade into Olynyk/DJJ, and Riley said, "Aw, hell, no?" At least the Mavs were aware of DJJ's value.

Everyone good, with the exception of Harrell, was overpaid. Mavs are doing alright so far.
Exactly. Gallo getting paid 22 mil a year. Bertans just got 80 mil. Wood leveraged an extra 14 mil out of the Rockets.
I am more than happy that the Mavs are sitting out and letting these solid but not extraordinary role players go.
There are still PLENTY of great role players to be had. Namely Aaron Baynes, and Bogdon. As long as they don't get snatched up for nothing I'm good.
Trade us Tucker, Houston.

That's a complete gear down and almost throwing it in reverse from 1 hour ago when Brad and Henderson were all talking "It's a big man for sure and they're gonna shock us" (that was Henderson with Brad cheerleading and retweeting...
So that tells you that they struck out with who they were looking for...I bet.

Dude looked absolutely washed in Atlanta. Basically given the freedom to do whatever he wanted and still couldn't perform. I think there are better players to add even at the minimum.
my only memory of him is injuring Brunson

Post of the year.
But Westbrook is still there to continue ****ing them.

Did they post this before or after the Gallo deal fell through?
Detroit had Wood on their team and decided they'd rather pay Jerami Grant and extra $20 million. Although it's not like the Detroit GM has built up any credibility yet.
I don't get the comparisons to last year. Last year we got nothing in the draft, and the FO napped while obvious fits got taken on good deals(Brogdon). And then we got desperate and signed Curry(good) and Wright(bad) and wasted our max money slot. This year we got 3 promising players in the draft and traded a good bench player for a good starter who fits. We're already light years ahead of last year's disaster.

Wood signed in that timeframe. Lines up...
But I still think they're looking for another bigman. But are probably seeing if there are better avenues first.

He will sure decline his option, since he hits 10 year mark next off-season.
And he really doesn't own Clippers anything, if they don't reach finals next year he may very well move. I think that 3rd ring is really important to him

Everyone said he was obsessed with playing near his home/friends in SoCal.
Did we ever get a confirmation on Bogdan signing an offer sheet with Atlanta?

This is my problem with the Mavs approach to free agency ... just like last offseason ... there's never any pretermined gameplan. It's just completely reactionary and scrambling. We'lll look out on the scrapheap of what's left while everyone else got their guy. Find this year's version of Delon Wright. Tell ourselves that we're the smart team that found the undervalued gem in the rough while everyone else overpaid. Then hope someone takes him off our hands next offseason because it turns out he's not an NBA rotation player on a contender.

I can't help but feel a little sorry for their fans. Overpaying role players wasn't enough, they had to stretch waive two others to screw their future cap space even more.
Cousins still free right?
