I'd be shocked if they don't have better options right now, even better options that I STILL wouldn't be excited about. I don't think that deal is a punt on Giannis, I think it's a punt on everything.

I'd do Buddy Hield instead of this so fast your head would spin, and that's just literally the first thing that popped into my head.

Hell, literally EVERY other thing we've discussed in this thread is better, imo. Give me high priced role players without the third top end guy in place, which is the opposite of what I've been preaching, before you give me Harris and his contract.

I'm not sure if he's the guy to lock up with Luka..and he's an average defender ... I'd rather roll the dice 1 year with Hayward, who will likely sign cheaper in the long run and chase Jrue at FA 21

I think @"fifteenth" on a 1 year deal for the Max would be a better investment for the Mavs in the long run.
but we get a 2nd rounder...with tobi and bobi and korki and curri

i don't see Mori doing that deal anyway.

If the choices are OPJ or Tobias Harris?

HEEELLLLLLLLL YESSSSS

Why would you think they are desperately trying to get rid of him? I think most realistic scenario is, he stays with them. He is a good player, overpaid but still good. He will deliver his efficient 20 points, so why trading him for pennies on the dollar, if they are trying to win it all? If they are moving him, they would want decent players back, not a pile of junk, even if it costs less. Horford is the one they need to move and bring a better fit back.

We'd be looking so good

Donci / JB
Korki / Curri
Finni / Justi
Tobi / Maxi
KP / Bobi / Wili

Don't forget 18th picki

I would see the Harris trade as even if we could pull Richardson in on the deal. Something like Harris/Richardson/Korkmaz/2021 second (from NYK) for THJ/Powell/Curry/Wright

Luka/Brunson/Burke
Richardson/Korkmaz/Green (#18)
DFS/Wilson Chandler (Vet min)/Woodard (#31)
Harris/Kleber/JJ
KP/WCS/Bobi

Harris seems like a great dude, but his contract is atrocious.  Even if they took Powell and Wright, I'm going to need more than a 2nd and Korkmaz for that trouble.

20-21:  34.3m
21-22:  35.9m
22-23:  37.3m
23-34:  39.2m!

...a lot more.
Except Korkmaz shot over 40% for the season (better than THJ and everyone else on the Mavs not named "Curry" who was a significant contributor) and was also a positive on D.

I did not post the highlights to suggest he will score 34 every game, but to give those not familiar with him a little look at him.

The DSJ comparison is laughably dumb.

That's his salary for Philly - he does have a trade kicker too Wink

NOTES

His contract includes a trade bonus worth the lesser of 5 percent or $5,000,000, according to Bobby Marks.

It's not a comparison.  It shows how idiotic posting a highlight tape is as an argument.

Please stop trolling.

I posted highlights of a great game of Korkmaz. There was no "argument." Don't be ridiculous.

Who is trolling?  Please get over yourself and taking offense where there is none.  As demonstrated, it's easy to post highlight videos (especially highlights of a career outing) of just abut any NBA player and make them look all world, but that's certainly not how one should judge the worth of a player and certainly not a bench player.  Doing so would be...how did you put it? Laughably dumb. I don't dislike Korkmaz but he's certainly not worth eating the turd burger that is Harris' contract.
