I think @"fifteenth" on a 1 year deal for the Max would be a better investment for the Mavs in the long run.

Why would you think they are desperately trying to get rid of him? I think most realistic scenario is, he stays with them. He is a good player, overpaid but still good. He will deliver his efficient 20 points, so why trading him for pennies on the dollar, if they are trying to win it all? If they are moving him, they would want decent players back, not a pile of junk, even if it costs less. Horford is the one they need to move and bring a better fit back.

Harris seems like a great dude, but his contract is atrocious. Even if they took Powell and Wright, I'm going to need more than a 2nd and Korkmaz for that trouble.

As demonstrated, it's easy to post highlight videos (especially highlights of a career outing) of just abut any NBA player and make them look all world, but that's certainly not how one should judge the worth of a player and certainly not a bench player.
