I am OUT on Tucker for this reason.

Grant is worse and less efficent on offense, same questionable defense, but stronger.

Internet says Grant is 6.8" 210lb, Edwards is 6.6" 225lb now.

That´s all fair. I just think adding Grant makes us worse, even if he would be waived and signed for the Vet-Min with us. Not because what he is as a player (that´s bad enough) but as a person.
Especially after adding Wood.
Is Otto Porter Jr an option?

If he wants to leave GSW. I am not thinking he will. But if he leaves I like him a LOT as an option. I have for literally YEARS.

Yes. UFA. And GS has no bird rights.

I think the general consensus is he would be a good add and the TPMLE is right around the right contract value for him. The issue is prying him from GSW.

I just looked up his stats on bball reference and seems like a perfect fit. I don’t dabble in the advanced stats stuff so I can’t speak for that. If IGT says his value is the TPMLE and the Mavs have that available, it’s time for Nico to use those negotiating skills. GS have any young guys they might choose over spending 3-4x tax to resign the 29 year old?
Safe to say I’ve narrowed down my wish list to:

OPJ
Dragic
McGee

I believe Dragic will be here on a vet min deal. IGT tells me OPJ can be had for the tax payer MLE. Idk the status or worth for McGee but he’s a good 3rd big.
DiVincenzo would be sweet as well. Not sure he’ll be available for the tMLE though.

I also like Taurean Prince.

And in general I would stay away from bigs who make more than the minimum. We are pretty well set up now with Wood/Kleber/Powell/Bertans.

Would LOVE Dragic as a Burke-replacement. He’s declined a lot but you’re still getting a serviceable backup there. And with Boban out you also got some offcourt reasoning to bring Dragic in now.
If we assume Brunson and Pinson are in, there are 2 spots left open.

If Dragic takes 1 of them (and I would argue for that choice), then there's just one spot left.

I like PJ Tucker more (I think he makes teams better, he is a plus defender, and he has a proven ability to play small-ball center when needed), but the age issue might make OPJ a better choice for a 3-year deal.
What do y’all think about Jonathan Isaac?
I like the Crowder option.  I am not a huge fan of his but I do wonder if PHX does keep Ayton if they move Crowder and his salary and gives bigger minutes to Johnson and a cheaper wing.  Maybe?

With Wood being able to create a little, I like having three pretty tough and physical wing defenders in DFS, Bullock & Crowder (4 if you count Maxi).  The salary for Crowder may be too much to take on as a tax team.  Plus, maybe it would take an asset to get him.  If so, I would look somewhere else.

I think Tucker is back in Miami.  They can pay him 8.4 million if they wish.   I agree though, I have always been a fan since when he was in the draft and he was one of my second round targets.   He has had an interesting career.
What about Danny Green?  He is injured and won't be ready to start the season.  This may give Josh Green a little run time to continue his growth.  Green could then be slowly worked into the rotation as another 3 and D wing.

Philly can decide to guarantee his deal which they won't unless they find a trade for him with their pick.

I would be surprised if Danny Green plays at any point next season. He was injured in May.

Yeah you are right.  That is going to be a wait.  Might be best for him to sit the year out and rehab.  Especially at the contract he might garner.  But at his age, sometimes u get forgotten about when you miss a full year.

That's never been my impression of his defense. Wasn't he the primary defender on Kawhi when Denver came back from 3-1 down? At a glance stats like EPM and on/off seem to like him as a defender as well.

What followed was the usual I am not a role player and want to do more on offense stuff. Leading to worse effort on defense and 20 ppg on mediocre efficiency on offense.

The effort might be worse (no surprise when you become the primary scoring option) but the results still seem pretty solid. Any trade would obviously be contingent on Dallas doing their homework and concluding that he is willing to embrace a different role here.

Speaking of PJ, I like PJ Dozier.

He's a better version of Ntilikina that can better fill a wing spot. Steady contributor for the Nuggets until he tore his ACL last November. He will probably come super cheap as result, worth a flier.

I’m holding out for PJ Washington
