I think his injury scared off all the other teams.

Seems like a weird decision.   His options may have been limited as he hasn't played in so long.   With New Jersey being such a big ? mark, it is odd he signed there unless that was one of a few options.    A good Nets team would make sense and we have seen this before.   Veteran player coming off injury signs with a good team for a year and rebuilds his value and cash in the following season.   I have no idea what the Brooklyn team will look like next year.

Another one bites the dust.  He's a big wing that we could have took a flyer on coming off injury. If I remember correctly, he had a career year during the bubble season. Sign him to a 1 yr prove it deal and see what happens. That's why Brooklyn did it and it could work out for both sides.

It seems like this tweet was deleted.

Was this about Kyrie?

I will honestly be shocked if any team (who wants to be competitive this season) takes Westbrook from the Lakers. Maybe someone in the business that OKC has been in recently.

Never say never, but I really don't see how the Lakers can get Irving. This worries me, because Cuban is dumb enough to go for it.

Cuban is dumb.

There…. I fixed it for you.

I will give him a break if his new drug company actually makes a difference and lowers prices around the country.
If Kyrie is dirt cheap, I don't see the issue.  Worst comes to worst, you can always send him home.

Sending Kyrie home while being paid is what he wants.  He has no interest in playing basketball full time.

And he or Ben Simmons would wreck chemistry on the court because his teammates will never know if they are available to play.

Russell Westbrook would just ruin chemistry while being on the court.

I get the concerns but Kyrie is really good at basketball.  I don't see at as anymore than a one year rental and maybe you could get something back in a trade (TDL) or S&T (offseason).  You are gambling on him being on his best behavior but it is a gamble.  If you could get Kyrie back while sending out Bertans, sign me up...twice.  I don't think there is a trade there though.

Simmons, I just don't think we have the assets for.

Westbrook, I don't see either side sending out or accepting what would satisfy both teams desires.

I´ll admit that is actually not a bad business venture in a country like the USA with a completely messed up health care system. Wouldn´t be shocked if the pharma industry was a major donor to the gun lobby just to stay off the radar.

Should have stopped after the first sentence.  The insinuation of second sentence opens up a world much more complex than a simplified blame of the pharma industry.  It’s in vogue but short sighted.  There is plenty of blame to go around and plenty of players involved.  I have spent a minute in the medical world.

But I am a fan of what Cuban is doing.

This is the first signing I went "Damn the Lakers got that guy?"

Bryant was a passable center in WAS. Curious to see how badly his ACL injury has affected his game, if at all.

Not sure if this was shared yet but found a few things interesting...

New Pod Abridged:

@ 4:15 Tongue and Cheek: It was tongue and cheek when he said KD may happen on Monday, July 4th, "Expect some fireworks." Streamable link here of him saying it: https://streamable.com/cqtdq8

@ 7:15 Negotiations; don't feed into national media non-sense like Woj and Shams

@ 10:29 Says pay attention to the Kyrie trade as the proverbial white flag for the Nets; sticks strong to "If KD wants to go to PHX, then he is going to PHX." The host, not Flex, equates it to the Harden trades.

@ 12:10 Nets have a trump card that they can just run it back as long as they have Kyrie. Nets want to finalize the KD trade first then go do the Kyrie trade.

@ 13:24 KD & Rich Kleiman has been very clear that he only wants PHX; he says Nets will be the only other team and Flex does not see him playing for the Nets again

@ 15:15 Goes through the Nets hypothetical that kicking the can down the road and bringing KD back to the team lowers KD's value

@ 16:14 Flex states that BEN SIMMONS is being SHOPPED and does not want to be in BKN

@ 17 Flex states that he talked to someone close to the deal that it may take weeks for the deal to finalize; says Nets have no control beyond timetable of how long it takes; says this deal being held up is not good for agents, players, and the NBA

@ 23:30 Nets love Donovan Mitchell. Flex says Donovan Mitchell wants out of Utah and would love to be in BKN.

@ 26:30 Going to deactivate his account when KD becomes a PHX Sun.

@ 33:35 Tripling down; sticking with 99% certainty that KD will be a Sun.

@35 Flex believes talks will intensify at Summer League; does not guarantee it

Thanks for posting.  Who knows if true.  But if so, the audacity of Ben Simmons to think it is important to let a team know where he wants to play is ridiculous.   How about showing you can still play first.
