I am assuming the whole NBA trade world is on pause till KD gets dealt somewhere.
$8M per or total?

Great value deal for the T-Pups. Slo-Mo has game.

WOWOWOWOW
Isn't Westbrook + a tip better than a stretch waive?

Isn't that just the worst possible option for them?

S/W Kyrie would cost them nearly 13 mil a year for 3 years in dead money. Are the Lakers really not offering a first to get out of WB contract?

What stops them from just holding onto Kyrie and eating it this year anyways? Makes no sense for them to go down that route.

And another one, and another one bites the dust....

Payton was a nice dream, but his other offers exceeded what the Mavs could pay.
They really should try to S&T Sexton.
Just read an article that says Sexton will most likely have to settle for a $10-$12 million contract and the Cavs need a backup big. I believe a SnT is being discussed involving Powell. Not the big swing I was hoping for but Sexton is intriguing. Would it kill the Dragic signing?

Mavs do not have the $$$ nor the assets.

Even if wing is our biggest need right now, a Sexton for Powell swap would be a no brainer for us. Sexton is 23, and despite Kidd continually saying we are a “young” team we could really use some young talent that still has upside. Sexton for 12mill is also a very tradeable deal.

If we could pull off a sign and trade of Powell and maybe Green for Sexton that would restore a huge amount of confidence I have in the Mavs FO. Get it done Nico.

So, two thoughts here.  It would be really difficult to do a S&T and not hard cap ourselves.  However, I believe (and I'm certain FG will correct me if I'm wrong) that we can do all of our business and then do a S&T that returns fewer dollars than we send out.  So Powell at $11.08 for Sexton at $11.07 would work and we'd be hard capped.  We wouldn't be able to do anything that adds salary after that.  Teams do do that to themselves from time to time and we'd be very deep.

Edit:  Yeah, this was all wrong above.  Yes, if we are over the hard cap we can trade more money for less money, but we have to also end up under the hard cap after the trade.  So, we'd have to dump a sizable contract somewhere and then do something like this.

Another version of this could be Sexton to Orlando, Harris to Dallas and Powell to Cleveland.  Then it isn't a hard cap situation and teams can add things around the fringes if they wish.

I personally think this would leave us thin at center with basically McGee, Wood and Maxi (and DFS getting some minutes there also).  It would leave us quite flush at wing.  Maybe THJ can start with DFS guarding the best wing and McGee (and to a lesser extent Wood) protecting the paint.  Then Harris/Sexton joins Dinwiddie, Bullock and Maxi as the primary bench players in a 9 man rotation.  That seems like too many mouths to feed if DFS gets any time at the three (which he would if McGee starts).  We know Dinwiddie will get some time at the two and we'd have to find enough minutes for THJ, Bullock, and Harris at the two/three as well.  I'm dubious.
