But they were free agents that had to decide prior to the season's start.  Theoretically the Nets can wait for a while since KD still has 4 years remaining.

If I'm the Nets I try to trade Kyrie first to see what comes back and whether it's enough to persuade KD to stay.  Not like there's a reason for them to rush.
The really interesting thing to watch is whether the Knicks put a hold on the Brunson acquisition (assuming they have the best offer).

Rumored Mavericks Goran Dragic starred in his return to action for Slovenia. The 36-year-old guard went off for 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 21.9 minutes of action. Dragic shot eight of 16 from the field, and he looked fantastic in the victory.

Luka Doncic magical as Slovenia crushes Croatia in World Cup qualifying (thesmokingcuban.com)

Think I heard Slovenia had a 33-8 lead after the first quarter and Luka had 11 and 4. Honestly I kind of forgot about Tobey as a potential option to shore up our center physicality

We're leavin' together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To Earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground (leaving ground)
Will things ever be the same again?
It's the final countdown
The final countdown
Oh
We're headin' for Venus (Venus)
And still we stand tall
'Cause maybe they've seen us
And welcome us all, yeah
With so many light years to go
And things to be found (to be found)
I'm sure that we all miss her so
It's the final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown (final countdown)
(Oh)
Oh

There's no benefit -- and lots of opportunity lost -- for all 3 teams (DAL, NY, DET) if they don't do a 3-way sign-and-trade that ties together the NY trades to DET and the Brunson signing to NY.

I can't imagine that has gone unnoticed to any of those teams.

IMO the only real question now is how each team might opt to tie other moves into that deal, to gain greater benefit. The "tying in" would be at no cost to any of the 3, only upside to be looked for.

Dew it!

Been wanting a more sizable center that's a true rim protector for certain playoff matchups even if it's just for limited minutes.

If true, and we keep Powell and Maxi, this says a lot about who the Mavs think Maxi is for them, and it surely isn’t a full on C.

Make Brunson-to-NY into a 3-way with DET, then add THJ going to DET. Then tie Kyrie-to-DAL into that deal, with DET sending player X to BKN (some player making enough salary to allow DET to take THJ from DAL). Maybe Burks is that player. Alternately, instead of THJ-to-DET, maybe they use SD-to-BKN as you suggest, or THJ-to-BKN.

Personally I'd prefer to keep SD. But other teams have their own valuations and needs, so ya never know.

Obviously there would be more details, but the matching framework is fairly easy when piggybacking off of what looks to already be in the works (ie some variation of DAL-NY-DET that ties together the known transactions).

In light of the chaos of the past year, I suspect Kyrie wouldn't be that expensive.

Maybe it goes the other way and Dallas sends out more money, not less as a way of getting under the Apron.  Brooklyn needs bodies and has an incentive to win.  Maybe Dinwiddie, Bertans and Powell for Kyrie and Sharpe?  Takes about $9mm of Dallas salary off the books and allows us to use more than the TP-MLE (but not quite the entire Non TP-MLE).
The best case to be made for going Kyrie now.

I also think the Mavs view Kleber’s position as flexible (though I think his best position is the 5) so I’m not disagreeing with you. But, how exactly does washes McGee on a two year deal at the minimum prove this? I doubt he’d even be in the playoff rotation. This would be the WCS job, yeah?

Cuban: That´s why I always say you keep a 160M pay-roll at all times. You never know when you need to match salaries. Big Grin

With Powell and McGee backing up Wood, there would be some reasons to play Maxi at the 5, but IMO, he would be firmly behind DFS in terms of most of his time spent in game.

well Stein's meeting with Jalen is off now.  Mark is like a moth to a flame when a star free agent may be available.
