I agree.  It would be an weird trade for the Knicks if it cost # 11.  # 11 is sort of in no mans land.  Some guys I really like, but either guys who are far away or are not top 3 guy types on a team.

I am a little worried Woj is saying Knicks are still trying to clear room for Jalen.  That is concerning.   It sort of makes me feel that this is less than a done deal.  I hope he is wrong.

Ok...thanks.
The real question: Is OPJ, Lionel Richie's son?!
(06-22-2022, 01:10 PM)mvossman Wrote: [ -> ]I really don't get the argument on fit with PJW.  He seems like the perfect fit.  He is a 3&D player that can give room for Wood to operate in the paint on offense, and on defense he can guard the perimeter, but also provides some additional rim protection and bulk for taking on bigs.

I have no issues with him wanting to start as I would start him over Bullock.  The starting unit could use a little more size with Wood being undersized for a 5 and Dorian being undersized for a 4.  He is also already a better player than Bullock and will potentially be significantly so as he reaches his prime.

Both players would be a good fit here.  If either were to be acquired, fans would be generally happy.  It comes down to acquisition costs and the fine minutia of how they are deployed.  I think that getting either would still require a big to play on the other side of Wood on the depth chart.  That is my opinion.  But both would fill the "big wing" slot that is a preference to fill on the roster to free up DFS to guard smaller players and play less minutes during the season to stay fresher.  I have personally wanted to acquire OPJ since his WAS days, so he would be an amazing get for me.  Haha.  Washington fits the timeline and is a healthier body, so I would pay more to get him on board - as would other teams.  As was stated, PJ would probably be looking at a starting role between DFS/Wood, while OPJ's health probably makes him a lower (than PJ) minute backup.

Glad that will be over with soon.

It’s a nice tag line. All good things must come to an end.

It´s almost like big media outlets and talking heads only talk about a hand full of NBA teams. Nets, Knicks, Lakers, Warriors. With a small chance that Miami or the Clippers get some attention.

Well, I doubt he signs for that, but only paying him $6 million would make it significantly easier to stomach whatever excuse he offers for missing half or more of the season this time around!

That´s right. Me and LeBron did it again.
When I read "Woj: "The Lakers are considered the most significant threat right now for Kyrie," my takeaway is probably not what Woj intends.

To me, it says that either Woj is clueless as to what is likely, or a PR-puppet for the Lakers ...but it certainly doesn't mean Kyrie is destined for LA.

If you make me accept it as truth, that LA has the BEST chance, then my takeaway is that Kyrie is going nowhere ....because that "best" chance is ridiculously miniiscule.

Dude, you are so wrong on this one. LeBron will happily cut the throat of Anthony Davis to make something happen if he must. Or he’ll be the one outgoing. Either is a really possibility.
Seeing Woj report the KNicks still are looking to create room for Jalen gave me a bad feeling.  I hoped he was wrong.

Not good with this.

If the Mavs didn't take care of business with Jalen, that would be a major mistake.  I said last offseason, right after we missed out on Lowry, I would have offered him that extension near that max.  I thought he may look to bet on himself. But the security of 55 million would have been appealing.   Not making an offer was just a mistake.  I understand they wanted flexibility, but it was still a mistake.

I think the NY chance at Brunson sailed a long time ago. Lots of talk of them clearing cap room, but NOT talk of JB having any interest whatsoever. He's a winner, and NY under Dolan is where such dreams go to die.

I can certainly be wrong. But unless it's AD for Kyrie, which I don't think likely at all, then I don't see a way he gets there. BKN won't be interested in LA trash via trade match. And signing him outright would be absurd. He's trying to get paid big $ in BKN and it's where he wants to be, so no way he will take LA's 6M MLE as a preference.
