what do you guys consider realistic from the Heat where we get a first back?

is Dinwiddie + Bullock for Lowry enough?

I'm sure they would want to dump Robinson for Dinwiddie or maybe Hardaway but that puts us in a situation where we have yet another hard to move contract that would drag down a star trade

I'll have so much love for Nico if we somehow come away from this deadline with 2 extra first rounders and a decent shot of falling to the 10th pick
Well that even opens up a move with Wood plus picks if he's iffy on an extension.

Have you seen Lowry play this year?  Trade Din and Bullock for him?  Hard pass.

So he's sucked? Perfect
We don't want to win too much the rest of the season

Siakam please

That'd be amazing.  I'd be happy with OG.  Precious is a promising big also.

This makes the most sense to me as Cuban has adamantly refused to mail in seasons.

If so, then it looks like the Mavs are gearing up for a 3 pick package if they can grab a 2023 first from UTA. If they find a way to somehow clean the cap sheet and net an all-star in the process, that'd be a serious coup.

Even if DFS and future draft assets are the sacrifices.
Mostly thinking about DFS and THJ because they haven´t been as good in the last couple of games.
How are players dealing with trade rumors. Is it impacting their performance. How are the Mavs communicating stuff like this. Are the players aware of potential deals?
This might explain why a Phoenix radio reporter has knowledge of what Dallas plans to do with DFS…

On today’s Lowe Post, Tim MacMahon said ““He’s (DeAndre Ayton) a name I’ve heard around the Mavericks.” He mentions it as a more down the road option.

What a weird rumor…later as in this offseason?

Also, Ayton is such a phony, can we please note try to build a roster with a 30M+ center this time around unless his name is Jokic or Embiid or Bam?

It might also tell us a bit about Woods future in Dallas
I’m in on Ayton as a buy low guy. Wait until Phoenix realizes he’s a bad contract and they’re in the tax

Yeah, weird.   I am way behind my Zach Lowe podcasts so I won't get to this one for a while.  But sort of a weird thing to tell a reporter about later with Ayton.    I would like to hear context of that comment or if it is just rumor talk.

I am not sure where I am with Ayton.   So I will leave it at that.  The Suns have stabilized a bit where it looked like they were going to be out of the playin.  If Booker comes back, they may be back as a top 6 team.    If they ever decide to restart, I would give a lot of assets for Bridges though.   I might prefer him over OG.
Interesting piece, according to it:

Teams with need for shooting wings (some of them I find most interesting): Denver, GSW, LAL, Memphis, Minny, Pels, NY, Philly, Sac, Uta. Below my ideas (I try to look for a younger player and or draft capital)
- Denver (defensive minded wings): would they be interested into Bullock+FN for Hyland, Green and Ish Smith? Hyland could play well next to Doncic or be the 6th man. Cost controlled for two more seasons
- GSW: any of Wiseman, Moody and Kuminga are interesting, but finding a match might be difficult. Bullock for Wiseman?
- Memphis: Bullock+FN for Green and one of LaRavia, Roddy (Dallas chooses)
- Pels: Bullock+FN for Graham and Herb Jones
- Philly: Bullock for Korkmaz and Thybulle (Philly doesn't get under the tax and might be impossible to do it afterwards)
- Sac: Bullock for Holmes and FRP

Would definitely take Bridges over OG I think.  His offensive game is much more polished.

I think that all the 3 team talk we did yesterday around Siakam can easily be repurposed to target OG.  Vanderbilt and 2 firsts could be fair value.

Unlike most of you I don't think Bullock is worth a first. Two seconds maybe, but not a first.

The Kings though could cut the price of Holmes to half with McGee.
Sure McGee would be a negative for them, but they would be paying less with McGee.
Kings can take away one SRP from the trade though if McGee is included.

Holmes+Davis+SRP for Bullock+McGee

Agree Bullock is not worth a first. But Holmes contract is a big negative, thats why a first. The pick would be protected though

Cato, if you're listening, the condescending tone makes reading you often unbearable.

The lede for the article is "Identifying the biggest need for all 30 teams," and 29 other reporters followed the script.

You give us the same tired narrative: the Mavs supporting cast stinks and Dallas won't win a championship this year. Way to go out on a limb.

No, their Fate is sealed. You bury them in January while making sure to drive a nail in the coffin, noting there is nothing the front office can or will do to change this teams' fortune.

What's more, you suggest the team should take a step back. Throw in the towel. Give up. Quit.

You may be smart, and a halfway decent writer, but I don't think you have the first clue about what it takes to build a champion, and you clearly have no idea what the Mavs should do at the trade deadline.
