Yeah, maybe. Just going off of Russilo's tweet.

Either way...
Utah also got the guy Minny drafted this year.  Maybe Russilo is counting the swap rights as unprotected.  Someone arrest Ainge for highway robbery.
Mavs can trade for Beverly now Smile
With the Spurs trade with Murray and now the Gobert trade, I bet Presti is pissed that others are trying to takeover his corner.
I’m surprised folks here are so low on Sexton. We didn’t really have anyone who could play with pace and he damn sure does that. I also find it a little misleading to call him a terrible defender, he plays with so much energy and hustle and can make some plays on that end. Plus Sweeney’s system has shown that it can maximize potential on that end. He needs to improve his on ball skills but he’s not a total negative on that end. Depending on the price i think it could wind up being a fantastic pickup.

That's kind of the rub.  Mavs would be happy to add anyone that can be part of the rotation with the limited assets they have.

Hey, after being so surprised by Dinwiddie last season, I'd give him a chance if this happened.

This guy is obviously confused about the details, somehow, but the amount of smoke is increasing:

Saw this tweet too but feels fake…

Certainly lots of smoke though.

I believe he is our second option.   We offered 30 million to Ayton.    Now it is the waiting game.

Gotta wait for the Mavs complete their KD trade first

Interesting take.   I am just watching highlights and he does play with pace.  Much more a scoring guard than point.   I just don't think we have the assets for him.

I would assume someone does make a move for him.   Even him and Garland is a tough match due to size.  With Rubio there it seems like something will eventually come.

Yep, that is a given.  Just looking for Brooklyn accommodations for Powell, Maxi and Josh.    They may be renting a place with Jalen.   4 bedroom walkup.  These things take time.

I can actually imagine that this one is possible, since it doesn't seem like he's in very much demand. If you assume that Dallas is willing to pay a contract similar to what they were willing to pay Brunson, and that Cleveland is NOT willing to pay that much, it's probably possible there's a way to accomplish a sign and trade.

I think they probably can get this guy, I'm just not sure they should.

And how does Dallas get the cap room for that offer?  What we offered for JB seems way too much.

He is restricted. Basically a Markkanen situation from Chicago

Oh, they can't. It would have to be sign and trade, along with whatever concessions financially Dan and others have been pointing out that would prevent getting hard capped, I suppose.

I ignored all of those posts, because I couldn't imagine we lived in a world where Brunson would be allowed to get away, so I'm a little ignorant about that stuff at this time. Maybe it isn't possible, not sure.

But, setting that stuff aside, I can envision Cleveland helping Sexton to land at a destination of his choosing in exchange for a little something (smaller than we might imagine) if we presuppose they don't want him back.
Sorry, didn't see the FRPs.

Question stands.  How can Gobert and Townes play on the same court?

I'm with you on that. I hate the pairing, personally.
Feels like Minnesota just mortgaged everything just to recreate the same problems that Utah had. Have they not been watching…

I personally love it and think it will work great as long as they only play games 10 years ago.
Sexton is basically just a volume guy. Bad on lots of “advanced” metrics. Not the player I want complimenting Luka, for sure. I’m rooting against this idea. I hope the Mavs fail in their pursuit.

Did this actually happen?  That is or would be laughable. This is the 2020s.
