Yep
That's dead unless we pull off the Conley trade. The majority of the minutes next year will be played with one PG on the court at a time
Ainge will always have my respect for getting drafted in both the NBA and MLB.  Would likely stay away from trading w/him, but if I was Kemba I probably would have gone to BOS also.

I don’t think we can afford to look the other way despite the offcourt baggage that comes along with him. We’re one injury away from being unable to have reliable 48 minutes PnR play at the guard spots.

Usually when teams try to tank that’s the easiest way to sabotage your team. Just take away the veteran PG play and let some experimental guys run your plays. It’s gonna cost teams Ws pretty quickly bc of the importance of that role.

I seriously wonder why they appear to be willing to take on that risk. Is money THAT thight for Cuban? Do they plan to go away from the 2 PG lineups a lot more? Why though, they have worked in their favor for pretty much all of last season?

Kemba can eat a stinky one. Dude had his chance to come here but preferred Ainge‘s BS recruiting attempt. He’s also washed up and often injured.

F him.

This is a strange take.  Lets go after the guy with massive red flags, but screw the guy that chose another team over us (and did us a favor) in free agency?  I get the injury concerns, but I'm not sure why his free agency choice years ago should play a factor.  Its not like he pulled a Jordan.

Especially since he's an east coast guy.
I think I in favor of the Kemba signing.  Sort of fits with some of my appeal to Dragic...without the Luka relationship.

It is a short term solution.   Schroeder is the better player but you have to worry about fit and you would really need to open up 25 minutes for Shroeder, I think.  It is just really tough to get there with the Mavs especially if this is a big evaluation year for Josh Green.

Kemba can be insurance and potentially have a 10-15 game stretch where he can be Kemba of old.   I just wouldn't count him him to do it for the whole season.  But it would keep our flexibility and assets in case an improvement came along.

Yeah, if the choices are Schroeder or Walker, give me walker. They might have a better choice than either...and they might not even be looking at all. But, if those are the choices, I agree.

It’s a petty take. I know. But I had plenty of awesome Luka-KP-Kemba games on 2k and then he screwed it all up by joining Ainge of all people.

Interesting bit at the 24:00 mark regarding the Utah fire sale.

Bogdanovich most likely to fetch a "late first", but even that is dubious without an extension, but agreeing to an extension would be difficult because he's probably hoping to have a great season and exceed market expectations on his next (last) big deal.

Clarkson probably won't fetch a 1st - more likely a couple of 2nds (sign me up!)

No mention of Conley's value, whatsoever, though he and Beasley were both listed as fire sale candidates. My read of the discussion was that they were both viewed as less valuable than the two names discussed above, so...

There you have it - it's possible that one of these dudes is gettable without giving up a first.

Couldn't do that fast enough if it's true.
I honestly believe adding either Conley or Clarkson makes this team significantly more dangerous this season. If you can do it and keep your draft capital powder dry, great!
Another good reminder of why Schroeder should absolutely not be signed, and maybe some insight into why Dragic wasn't. (hit play on the tweet - it's a short clip)

My biggest exposure to Hollinger is his player price valuations which I have never been impressed with.  I'm skeptical of this assessment as well.  I can't believe Ainge wont find somebody to give him a first for Clarkson.
I would like Clarkson for the 2 seconds we have left to give (can’t give the 25). I’d prefer a defensive guard more, but Clarkson as a placeholder until we find that is good. So much pressure being put on our defensive wings.

The support for this opinion (which is already fading from memory) is that he won't be a starter anywhere and something about an option in his contract?

I was just happy to hear someone who wasn't assuming they know what the market would yield for him. I think it's possible someone coughs up a first, but not definite.

We could send Powell for Clarkson.  Ironically the Hollinger analysis says we lose 5 wins on that trade and Utah gains 6.  You can see where I might be turned off of his opinions when I see stuff like that.

Could you imagine Powell plus two seconds for Clarkson.  That would be even better than the Wood trade.  It would transform this offseason.

EDIT: Another option that might be a little more reasonable is Powell + Green + 2nd(s) for Clarkson.  I would pull the trigger on that as well.

He has a player option after this year, so could be expiring. Depends if he believes he’ll get more that $14M.

Would really like that trade for this season. If he opts out and leaves for nothing next offseason, it won’t be so bad (but please don’t let it come to leaving for nothing!!!). On your edit? Man, I really want to see Green for at least 20 games before we get rid of him. Powell, Frank and a couple seconds instead?

I'm the same.  I think I value Green more than most do here, but I'm not sure other teams/GMs feel the same.  I'm just looking for any possible value add in order to get the price down under a first.
Powell and 2 seconds for McConnell. Make RC wet himself with glee.

I like Powell more than most but this made me laugh thanks.
