Let’s go get the guy Jokic wants.
DeJounte Murray for John Collins? That would be some trade. It's an upgrade for ATL but is it worth a Jrue Holiday level price? Always thought Murray was a tad overrated. Spurs must see a guard prospect they really like at #9.

It might just be a "sell high" and "buy low" situation for SAS. JC's value is probably low and DJM's value is stupid high, irrationally high.

SD for KCP and #10. That would be funny!

One way to fire up your fanbase on draft day is to drop the nugget of keeping your eye on Monte Morris.  Party!

Morris is a real nice backup point guard but I keep looking at Washington and they just appear stuck.   A lot of good/solid players.  Probably two guys making huge $.  And in all likelihood an under .500 team.
If the Nuggets want to dump Monte Morris to save tax, that´s somebody, I´d love to take into our TPE. Actually my #1 target. I wasn´t expecting him to be available at all. But Denver already dumped Green and with the Micic rumours maybe there is some validity.

He´d be a great insurance for the Brunson worst case, but also a great replacement for THJ or Dinwiddie.

Also stepped up in the play-offs last two years with 14 PPG / 5 APG. Almost a 50/40/90 career shooter.

If Dallas is really serious about going back into the draft ...
Gordon + Plumlee (into TPE) + pick 15
Bertans + Powell
saves $12m on the Hornets. Swaps backup centers, both have 1yr left on their contracts, Dallas gets a bit beefier at C. Bertans can replace the shooting of Gordon on the Hornets, Dallas gets a more complete, but way more expensive and injury prone player, but saves a year of salary on Bertans.

Also works with THJ instead of Bertans, savings for Hornets reduced to $8.4m

However, Mavs need to find a way to move the remaining player of THJ/Bertans to avoid tax hell while paying less than a #15 pick

I seriously doubt they take on that Bertans contract while giving up #15.  Timmy would be the much more appealing player and with the descending contract could be fairly easily moved in a year.  If we are really worried about the tax bill we could stretch waive Bertans after the trade and the net cost (including 15) would be about even for Mavs.  That would be a crazy offseason if we added Wood, Hayward and #15 without touching the top 6 given our limited assets.

Cant find anything about it. Bucher is on that morning show on FS1 so maybe he said something regarding this.

I also think Charlotte would prefer to take THJ unless they really, really want to maximize this years' cap savings. I doubt the Mavs would clog up the cap sheets of the next 7 yrs to stretch waive Bertans though.

According to the trade machine

THJ + Green for Hayward + #15
Plumlee into the TPE

works.

Cuban will have to eat some serious sh*t for a year, but on paper this is probably the absolute best the Mavs could hope for, while keeping all future picks in place.

Doncic/Dinwiddie/Ntilikina
Brunson/ X / X
Bullock/Hayward/ X
DFS/Kleber/Bertans
Wood/Plumlee/Powell

Gary Harris would be perfect for back-up SG and then you take Duren, M. Williams, Eason or J. Williams at #15, since Kleber, Wood, Powell and Plumlee expire next summer.
