When is the last time the Mavs received a 1st rd pick in a trade?

Another place my mind goes a lot is how to bake NY into any trade.  The purpose isn't so much because I'm dying to have Fournier or Rose or Reddish (though I'd love to add Toppin or Quickley).  The purpose is to figure a way to either get our pick back or include the unprotecting of the pick as part of the deal.  For instance, is there a world where Quickly is the compensation for swapping expiring LeVert for Fournier?  And, as part of that, we unprotect our 23 so we can move 25, 27 and 29 in some other move.  If you have Quickley and Green as young guards, do you feel more free to include Hardy in that bigger deal?
Conley is interesting.   need to think if I would prefer him over Levert.  Utah may be happy to get off that contract.

Gives Dallas a little more time instead of the expiring Levert.   Age needs to be factored in with Conley though.

Robinson's contract is god awful. Lasts a 1.5 past Bertans (early non guarantee) So in any scenario where were getting Robinson they better be getting a 1st and at least asking for Jovic too. Not convinced dealing with MIA makes sense at all.

I would imagine conversations would be based around Lowry.    Hardaway and Bullock.   I just can't see Miami having interest in Bertans.   Just doesn't fit their DNA.

Pretty unexciting imo.  But that is who I would imagine the conversations are built around.   I wouldn't envision Miami offering any picks.    They will save those (with Hero) for their next big move if they find one.
I will be against any "win now" move.   I think the Mavs think different.   Every move they make sure be for the future.   That is why I would be in favor of a step back type trade, but I don't think the Mavs are even considering this.   I just fear they have desperation of not wanting to take a huge step back right after the Luka. This type of desperation typically leads to disaster.

Which SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.
Siakam is the move right now. Dinwiddie (Tor has had interest before), Wood (they could really use an offensive big), Hardy, one 1st. Is this enough? probably not but...

Luka
Green
DFS
Siakam
Kleber

Defensive versatilely to the max. Not bad.

The early guarantee is still $15M though, so it’s still more salary than he’s worth at the moment, and, I like THJ’s D better than DRob’s as well. If we trade with Mia, I hope it’s a 3 team trade.

Still like the 3 team with Cha and Cle.

THJ to Cle
Levert/Bertans/Bullock/McGee to Cha
Rozier/Hayward/PJ Wash to Mavs

Saves Cha soooooo much money.
Cle gets what they want
Mavs take on soooooo much money, but get a high potential player, a 3rd guard and offseason expiring money to use in a big trade using our FRPs.

Would LOVE this.

My one anxiety with it is that you would need to follow up a move for Siakam with another because you immediately start the clock on yourself. Siakam is about to turn 29, so if you are going to spend assets for him, you need to make the move toward contention.

Because of that I am not sure I would want to offer more than your proposed package for Siakam.
lolz...Lowry is ABSOLUTELY the target if they're negotiating with Miami. No doubt about it.
Not sure what y'all think of Lowry. IMO I'd be thrilled to land him using Bullock or McGee/THJ. One year shorter than THJ (big expiring for next year), can facilitate and handle the ball, would move Spencer to the bench.

Lowry/Dinwiddie
Green/Ntilikina
Doncic/Hardy
Finney-Smith/Kleber
Wood/Powell

Can't see MIA interest in sending Lowry here since it would leave them without primary ball-handlers.

Pipedream would be sending THJ/McGee for Lowry/filler and Vertans/Bullock for Hayward/filler.

Preparing for 2024 while having all our picks at our disposal and Murray (ATL), Brown (BOS), Sabonis (SAC), Anunoby (TOR) in their prime + Siakam/LBJ/Kawhi/PG13 are all FA.

If those are the players involved...no picks...no Green, no Hardy. Yeah, I'd be into it.

It's a half win now, half financial flexibility move. Lowry actually could help this team quite a bit, I think, and would instantly be the team leader they clearly don't have. I don't hate it.

It's not enough. The Mavs would hemorrhage picks in a deal for Siakim. I'd probably still do it.

As someone who's initial take is no thanks to Lowry, ill admit I wouldn't be upset if they went this route.

Antawn Jamison for the #5 pick is honestly the last one that I can really remember outside of trade back.
If the Miami rumor is about Duncan Robinson, and the Mavs front office is possibly that bad, so this can't be ruled out...I'm going to lose my freaking mind.

I want no part of Duncan Donuts.

Hardaway/Bullock for Lowry + 2023 FRP with protections works

Also, Miami fans on reddit are saying this guy is not a reliable source at all so take that for what it's worth.
