I'll bet a KD/KP pairing could win a championship!

I was watching some videos a few weeks ago wondering if he could be a fit in Dallas.

It is really tough to evaluate OKC players imo.   While they have a ton of picks, they appear to have hit on two undrafted guys the last few years in Dort and now Williams.   Players are out there.  Good organization can find them and make smart bets on those players.

We could get there if we did THJ/Bertans/Powell for RW and extending Wood and Maxi.

Or we could trade for him now.  Rolleyes

As previously discussed elsewhere, that actually leaves the Mavs at or a bit over the cap. The most they could offer would be MLE money.
I hate the thought of trading THJ after he made a commitment to stay with a pay cut.

GM integrity should be a priority for future guys to do that with us.

THJ should stay through his contract and I recently came to this thought after seeing how invested he is in pushing the Mavs culture.

What is the math on that?  I'm looking at the cap sheet on the beginning of this thread.  Looks like we have roughly 2 mil in space that season.  If we remove Timmy and extend Wood for roughly the same amount that's a wash.  Lets say we extend Maxi at his current rate and lose Bertans, then we are looking at +8 mil.  That's 10.  If we remove Green (trade or decline option) then you are looking at roughly the 15 mil it takes to supposedly sign Cam, plus the full MLE.  This would assume all open roster spots this season are filled with one year vet mins.
Isn’t Cam Johnson RFA? Why would we shed a good, useable player in THJ who wants to be here for a relatively modest upgrade in Cam Johnson. That’s assuming Phoenix doesn’t simply match or trade him in the interim before he gets to RFA.

Contract bonuses need to be the wave of the future. I also really like declining salary contracts. Didn’t think a young player would accept that though. Good on SA and Keldon! That contract really helps them be a ton more flexible!
SA drafted Keldon 29th, right? And they re-signed their young guy to a reasonable but fair extension before he blew up even further. Man we f’up up that Brunson situation. Could’ve had him playing on a declining deal that started at like 15-16m…

Dejounte was also a 29th pick.
