Powell/Ntilikina/Theo/Mavs25(unprotected) for Caruso/Drummond/Green..?

Hardy for Mcdaniels (Hornets) or Powell for Covington and wait for the buying market (thinking about Dragic/Roos/Barton) would there be interest in FA in defensive specialists like Bledsoe or Nwaba or shooters like Lamb or Ennis...?

Agree.

I don't see us getting any of Raptors players (Siakam, OG, FVV) until the summer.

If we are targeting a big wing on the TDL, i would be interested to see the price for Kuzma, Grant or Oubre.
At this point I wouldn´t be suprised if Miles Bridges ends up on the Mavs roster. They simply don´t give a f***. Signed Cynthia Marshall to co-sign whatever questionable move they want to make to limit the PR damage.

We are ridiculous with randomly throwing seconds to everything. NBA needs to make a Nico rule for second rounders as well.

We don’t have any available ones left so it is impossible for Nico to actually make a trade now. All trading calls are put on hold until he can get another.
I haven't read anything about the Wood interest from the Clippers, other than seeing some posters here talk about it.

Could a C. Wood + Hardy for Batum and Mann help both teams?

Stein was the one who broke that (and reiterated it on his pod with Haynes last night).  LAC doesn’t want him nearly that bad.  Mann will not be included.
I don't see the point in moving Wood if it doesn't make the Mavs a better team. Hopefully they don't trade him just to get rid of him. Wood as your 3rd best player is pretty good imo.
wood plays so good for us i'd rather keep his service for remainder of season and let him walk (if contract extention unsuccessful) than sell him cheap now.

I agree - but the writing is on the wall. Also, the Mavs are short on anything close to a positive asset and still have needs. He's the one chip they have, if they have it at all (reports being that the interest is next to nothing around the league).

They still have a first they can send out.  Looks like Wood won't bring much back and they are already short on bigs.  I think the play is Timmy plus the first for one more piece.

I think THJ for Lavert makes a lot of sense. Cavs have reportedly shown a lot of interest in THJ.

Mavs fill two needs in replacing THJ (who can only start for some reason) with Lavert (off the bench)

AND

The Mavs get off of THJ's money next year. They let Lavert expire and go elsewhere while having Hardy (ready or not) be the cheap Lavert replacement.

You then keep Wood or add the '27 FRP with him to get back two defensive minded players (a big and a wing preferably)

Wood + Frank + '27 FRP for Batum + Mann from the Clippers
I’m expecting a decision on Wood to happen soon. His agent seems to smoke a lot of crack

I just don't know if there is a move that will warrant giving up our last pick at this stage.  Which sort of sucks because this team isn't built to win as is.  They really need a DFS type.

This offseason while they may not have the assets for the elite guys, I think they can have good assets to get 1-2 good players.  IF Kyrie can be your 2nd best player, it gives us more flexibility as you don't need to look for all stars.   You really just need to find your 3rd and 4th best player types.   But these guys should probably be bigger guys, mentally tough guys and guys who can defend.   Maybe Wood can be a part of this team still.  Green continues to grow.   Bullock is a solid bench guy (at least when the weather is warm).   Hardy is your young guy to develop.   I really want the deep bench to be younger players.    With no picks, it will be challenging, but they really need to hit on the guys who fall thru the cracks.
I would keep Wood, but it just doesn't feel like he will be here long term.  There are a lot of things we are guessing on but it certainly feels like the Mavs aren't huge fans.

Is this crazy or even possible?

Mavs trade:
Wood
Powell
Bertans

Charlotte trade:
Plumlee
Hayward

Would really want to keep Powell.   For on court but just as much off court.   But I don't think Charlotte would want Hardaway.

Plumlee is expiring and they get off Hayward and only have a year and small buyout for Bertans.

Could you keep Powell out of the trade??
My 2 cents on the Kyrie trade and what we do next.

I wanted Kyrie. We all know Kyrie on the court with Luka will be amazing. Its the off court drama that none of us like/want. Thats the only reason he was available. And the only reason it didnt take 3 first rounders plus what we gave up.

He is such an upgrade to Dinwiddie that yes, it was worth DFS to get him. Dorian is so well liked for many reasons.  But lets not overrate him. He's almost 30 and on a long term contract. Averages 8 or 9 points a game. His defense is solid, but a little overrated as well. His hustle and intangibles is what we'll miss.

I'm skipping the doom and gloom and hoping like hell this works. Irving's track record says that it wont probably wont. But i'm here for the ride.

Next move? It looks like Wood is on his way out and i dont understand this one. I'd extend him immediately. But with him out of the equation we need alot. We may not need that 3rd ball handler now, but we need size, perimeter D, and rebounding.

Just wanted to throw my thoughts out there and ride this wild MFFL ride.

What is the realistic cost to obtain Jae Crowder? He fills the DFS loss.

Interesting that they offered an extension to Christian Wood.   Maybe that is old news about the 2 year extension.   so maybe there is still interest to bring him back, but they just don't want the uncertainty heading into FA this summer.   At least any more uncertainty.

I agree that this summer is probably the best time for filling out the roster.  Not for an all star but guys that fit around our best players.    It sort of sucks because it means we are not a contender this year.   But you can make a case we were never a contender.

edit-  Is that Chandler Parsons?

I just don't see the fit.   For what Phx is looking for and our current asset base.  Just doesn't feel like a match there.
