Is Robinson THAT different from Bertans?
Just saw an interesting trade proposal on fanspo. It was a 4 team trade, but I’m really only interested in the Dallas part.

Would you do: Powell/Bertans/25 for Clarkson/Curry/Stanley Johnson

We get a player from each of the other teams in the deal (LAL, Bkn, Uta). It’s a blockbuster where Davis goes to Bkn, Mitchell and Kyrie go to LAL and Utah gets RW with about 6 or more 1sts and a few seconds.

Not interested.

Fair, I hesitate on trading the 25 as well. On court it is for sure a steal and IMO puts us slightly ahead (after the Wood/McGee transactions) being an upgrade from last year’s squad.

LOL That's a funny trade. Yeah, I bet we know who designed this proposal.

There are 3 other GMs in this deal that are gonna say, "LA gets that for that? I'm out." Make no mistake, in a multi-team deal, every GM not only cares about what his end looks like, but also that no one else in the deal is making out like a bandit.

Not really.  He is younger, maybe a little better offensively and a little better/mobile defensively, but nobody is paying a first for that contract.

I guess that depends on what you think Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving’s value is. I gave the headlines and with Utah getting LAL’s 2 firsts left (27 and 29), seems pretty close to me.

They're both streaky shooters that are traffic cones on defense.

I mean I don't think so. I am not a fan of paying shooters, they just don't do enough to be worth big deals and you can always find better value deals. No reason to pay those guys which is why they all end up being negative value contracts.

I hope he has better luck with it than Dirk did

In other words, they'd love to get off of Randle as quickly as possible.

Mitchell + Westbrook = 77M

Trade eligible Randle + Fournier + Rose + Barrett + Reddish  + Toppin = 77M

I guess, if they do not want to extend Barrett, it make sense to include him in a Mitchell trade.

Basically leaves them for 2023/2024 with

Mitchell 30
Brunson 26
Robinson 16
Hartenstein 8
Grimes 2
Sims 2
McBride 2

So they´d have max capspace again next summer.

Maybe they want to build a Cavs-esque roster with a big European glue guy at SF next to some trees at PF/C. [Image: homer-simpsons.gif]
