Given this teams desperate need for two way players, I don't find myself terribly excited by White, but you would probably have to pull the trigger if an expiring Powell is all it costs.

That trade likely makes this team worse this season though.  It means more minutes for McGee unless they can backfill Powell.

I don´t think Chicago would even consider it. They have enough (maybe too many) bigs and a couple of non shooting wings. No need for another big or non shooter.
Was just pointing out that the Mavs shouldn´t hesitate in a situation like this. If they can turn a guy like Powell into a player with more upside they have to do it.
In my opinion this team is dangerously close to a Lillard-Blazers like treadmill. And refusing to give up guys like Powell for higher upside players is the best way to seal the fate of the team.
Some interesting guys having subpar seasons worth taking a look (besides Simmons) to buy low:

J. Collins (fan favorite here) - 25% from 3, 12.4 ppg, lowest since rookie year.

A. Caruso - Very bad O, very good D.

H. Barnes - 22% from 3, 10.9 ppg

R. Holmes - what the heck is wrong with him

R. Gobert - not the impactful signing Minny was hoping for

P. Beverley - Too hyped in L.A, maybe here he regains his form

If they would part with him, Caruso is the guy I want.

Right now DSJ is looking a lot like Caruso and we could of had him for the minimum.

The last 2 years!
Caruso is that Playoff dog every team wants.   His offense isnt ideal(not a great shooter)...but doesnt he do two things pretty decent on offense...passing and attack the rim on cuts.  I just dont know if him attacking the rim is what we want if Spence and Luka do that.   I think Josh Green could cut to the rim and score easily but Mavs dont seem to want to do that...so I dont know if Caruso is ideal here.

I'm shocked a "market value" 3PT shooter is on the trade block.  Shocked!

So absurd to claim an owner and a GM feel it necessary to travel halfway across the US to be able to talk about a trade in this day and age. Good grief. Whatever the reason for travel, it's certainly not this.
Kentucky, Michigan State, Duke, and Kansas are playing in Indianapolis tonight.

Yeah.

Really surprised Lamar Odom hasn't landed an NBA GM gig yet.

NOT!

Can you imagine the train wreck THAT would be?

LA can't fix this season by trading LBJ. He is ineligible to be traded until the season is over.  And at that point, reinforcements might be on the way to play with him, rather than instead --- they should have a FRP and a big chunk of cap room (perhaps 25-30M).
Kevin Love for Hardaway and Bullock?  Would you do it?   Would Cleveland?  Bullock would be the real prize for Cleveland as a 3 and D.   Not sure how well Love fits here but he is a skilled forward.

Dallas would clear some guys out paving out playing time for younger guys and still keeping our powder dry for one more piece.

I do wonder if the Mavs would ever be sellers.  Would they even consider this?   If Bullock plays better and Dallas views this year as a re-setting, would they move Bullock for a first or a younger player.   Would Atlanta want another wing?  Would they give up a youngster like AJ Griffin to do so?
