yes, they'll obviously offer it. He's too unpredictable to assume he'll accept it, but I'm with you in betting that he will.

Continuing with this.

I really hope this comes to fruition. Ayton is the exact kind of big you need with a core of Luka+Irving. Big money or not, his skillset fills the gigantic hole this team needs.

The unprotected first spelt this out.  The only thing that will speed bump this is if Cuban and Nico try to get cute with the contract language.  No idea if it is true but the rumor is the Nets had language related to the 3rd year on his contract extension tied to the team reaching the finals.

I mean the Warriors have to make a trade right? Wiseman isn't worth 131 million right??

My own pet trade idea is Wiseman/Kuminga for Wood. Dallas gets 2 young guys on rookie contracts to develop. Golden State gets the best player in the deal to compete right now in their closing window. And with both Wood and Draymond Green potentially FAs at the end of the year, they can keep their favorite and save a ridiculous amount of money by letting the other guy walk.

No.

As many on this board have pointed out on numerous occasions, Golden State's ownership doesn't care a bit about money.  All they care about is winning, unlike our cheap-ass Mark Cuban, whom we hate for his cheapness.

So $131 million is very cheap insurance to make sure they hold onto a player that might, someday, help them with a blocked shot in a playoff game that leads to a championship.

Sigh.

I see where you're coming from, but the owners for the Warriors are also successful businessmen. I think they were more than happy to eat a huge tax bill for guys like Poole, Wiggins, and Draymond. But Wiseman? Wiseman is closer to being in the G-League than we all think.

He's been that bad. 50+ mil savings this year, and 80 mil next year is a lot of money for a G-League center.

Heck if anything they can trade him for Dedmon right now if they really wanna keep a shot blocker and don't care about a tax hit that high.

Did you opinion sway at all the last time we watched him play us? Also, what is this gigantic hole? Rebounding? He’d definitely help there but that skill set can be had for a much cheaper price and is in my opinion the least important aspect in todays game. Would his defense in our switching/blitzing scheme be better than Powell or Maxi?

Not being an asshole I promise, you’ve just been on this hill since well before we watched him not even be able to take advantage of dorian at center so I’m genuinely curious as to your stance on this.

You also were very upset about Kyrie and made comments about how he gets into it with teammates and while he’s certainly messed up relationships with coaches and front office, his teammates love him and I would argue there’s actually more evidence that Ayton rubs teammates the wrong way than Kyrie. Kyrie is the bigger non basketball issue for sure but just saying that if you’re worried about how teammates get along, shouldn’t some of Aytons childish outbursts concern you as well?

I like the idea of trying to reload on some young talent and ship off on some bad contracts, but given that this team appears to be all in, relying on essentially rookies isn't a real consistent recipe for success.

If the Warriors really wanted Bertans though I can be convinced,  Big Grin

I actually love this idea.

No. I'm not vying after Ayton because I think he's going to be this savior on offense. It's his defense that I'm lusting for. That 20-20 performance where he shit the bed was coming back from injury. But again. I think Ayton's game (low usage, high efficiency low post scorer+good rebounding and defense), is the ideal archetype you want around Luka. He's a switchable beast. He also has helped PHX win playoff series before (NOP, and basically the entire finals run).

I don't think a highly switchable center that has the ability to score 20 if hot is available nor can be had for a cheap price. I do believe his defense would be much better than Powell, and almost on par with Maxi at his best. That's how good of a defender Ayton has shown to be (*When motivated).

Obviously he isn't perfect. He does leave a lot to be desired offensively and he's being paid like a star. He has been called out for not being consistently motivated. All fair points. It still doesn't take away that his game fits like a glove around two heliocentric creators.

I rarely, if ever, think someone is being an asshole on purpose here. I have thick skin trust me. I remember dfan1998 chewing me a new asshole over JB. And I'm eating crow on it right now.

Regarding Kyrie. I wasn't upset with how he conducted himself with his teammates specifically, but more how he's a nightmare off the court. He always finds ways to create drama and take away from the team. He goes out of his way to sit out games. I never once thought that Kyrie rubbed his teammates the wrong way though. In fact I've since posted a bunch of articles showing how beloved Kyrie is with his former teammates, and how most of his gripes came between FO clashes.

I'm not super familiar with Ayton having childish outbursts. I know he's wanted a larger role in PHX. While he wouldn't get that here, I do think Luka would be able to set him up better than CP3 today just because of how regressed CP3 is now.
We may get either wiseman or kuminga but warriors aint giving both. ayton would be wonderful but we ain't got enough assets to get it done now.
I’m starting to think that selling high on our remaining draft pick is the right way to go. If this goes well, our picks will go back to being worthless. They won’t buy as much

This one pick would be highly coveted between now and Thursday. Use it to take care of all the remaining business in one move without sending out Hardy/Green
If the Suns will trade Ayton for Wood + filler +any picks they want go for it. Mavs clearly don't value any draft picks seeing as they put zero protections on their 2029.
OG, Precious
for
Wood, Hardy, Frank, 2027 FRP

Quickley, Fournier
for
Bullock, Powell

Point - Luka, Quickley
Guard - Irving, Fournier
Wing - Green, THJ
Forward - OG, Maxi, Morris
Center - Precious, McGee
Suns are on TNT right now. This is the hardest I’ve ever seen Ayton play. He has 17/7 at the half.
by comparison to our 11' champion team, kyrie is our kidd while ayton would have the potential to be tyson. lets do it with wood and fillers plus whatever picks and we are STACKED.

Wiseman isn't worth 1.31 million.

Pretty disrespectful to Mavs Legend Tyson Chandler.
