I didn't mean it as he had been called low IQ before he got here or anything, just saying it feels similar to a Wood-like gamble for a player with questions marks as you mentioned in the other thread.

I'm not super high on Reddish but would be interested at a price tag of a second rounder.  More so than burning a first on some of the Hornets prospects for example.
Bullock/Bertans for Fournier/Reddish/Arcidiacano makes the most sense.

Doesn´t effect the winning percentage of either team according to the trade machine. Bullock > Reddish, Fournier > Bertans.

Contracts are roughly the same in size and length.

I think the Knicks say no, but if we are throwing in THJ instead of Bertans, I want our 2023 1st round pick back. Or increase the protection to top 20 and if it does not convert it turns into two 2nd rounders.

That actually seems like a reasonable approach. THJ is not worth a full 1st in this scenario, but a modification of the pick protection could be in order.

I like this a lot.

If replacing THJ with Bertans gets us the pick back then you could really go "all-in" before the deadline. For example...

Send 2023, Powell, Frank for Turner (assuming extension not reached)
Send 2025, Bertans for Bogdonavic

Or send both picks for Pascal or OG
Man, colour me underwhelmed by most of these proposals. Only one that moves the needle for me is Dan’s wherein we get Reddish, Quickley and our 1st back. And mostly for the way it unlocks our ability to trade other picks.

Not sure I’d trade Reggie for Cam. Would have to be more from the Knicks side, especially if they really value Bullock. I’d rather keep his production (on the upswing) and partially guaranteed contract to trade next season. I could see Reddish for a 2nd if they can get him to buy in. If he still sees himself as a “star” it’s not gonna work.

I really want no part of Bogi, Clarkson, FVV or any other guy on the wrong side of 30 that is about to get paid or just got paid. Rozier is an efficient chucker so it’d have to be Washington or something else very desirable coming back. Not into swapping bad contracts for tiger bad contracts and especially if it’s mainly a way to save Cuban $.

This is the only thing that moves the needle for me too.

If Luka really wants them to upgrade now....As crazy as it seems, this team is an instant title contender IMO.

Luka
Green
Bogdanvic
DFS
Turner
Dinwiddie
Wood
Kleber (maybe)
Fournier
Reddish
Someone sell me on Reddish.
Alright, big trade that clears up these new rumors and some old.

Cle gets: THJ/Dal 25 SRP

NY gets: Bullock/Hayward

Cha gets: LeVert/Bertans/McGee/Reddish/Rose/Dal 23 FRP unprotected (or Mav2021 idea, I like that)

Dal gets: Rozier/PJ Wash/McDaniels/Fournier

Luka/Rozier/Green/DFS/Wood
SD/Fournier/McDaniels/PJ Wash/Maxi? or Powell
Frank/Hardy/Pinson/vet min/Powell

I look at the 9 man playoff rotation as:

Guards: Luka/Rozier/SD

Forwards: Green/DFS/McDaniels/PJ Wash

Bigs: Wood/Maxi or Powell

We still have all 4 picks in the offseason with at least SD’s expiring. Have to navigate 2 RFA contracts in PJ and McDaniels, but they’re restricted.

Might be Paul George, might be Ricky Ledo.

Asking price is a 2nd.
I think we are pipe dreaming to think we are getting our first back from the Knicks but you could lift the protections.

I really thought Ledo would turn into something.

Me, too.

I don't know Reddish that well, but I do know that he has loads of fans who feel the same about him at all of his stops, so far. Lots of "why isn't Reddish getting playing time" complaining in ATL and NY, fwiw.

Seems like an inexpensive roll of the dice.  I'm fine with Bullock going out which would almost be a necessity at that point from a minutes standpoint.
Time to right the ship...

Bullock/McGee/Pinson + 3 2nd rd picks to NY

Rose/Reddish + convert the Mavs pick to a 1st rd pick swap in 23/24

Dallas gets the 3rd ball-handler, Luka minute reducer; Rolls the dice on Reddish; ditches McGee; frees up picks for future trades

NY gets their guy Bullock, reduces immediate payroll, AND extends the opportunity for the Dallas pick to be meaningful after this season (Dallas' pick is slated for the mid-late teens) or slightly improve the value of their own pick; gains 3 2nd rd picks
Man, he would have been a good tip for taking on Bertans contract last year.    He has his issues and at this point has been a disappointment, but there is something there.

That was such a great trade for the Wiz
I have trouble picturing many scenarios where we get a starter and a 2nd rounder for while dumping Bertans even now with a year less on his deal
I love Rui.
