So for those assuming the long-term functionality.....

Irving 50
Luka 40
Wood 20 (being conservative)
THJ 18
Bertans 17
Kleber 11
Bullock 10
McGee 6
Green 5

177 for nine players. At least nobody going to call Cuban cheap anymore. Big Grin

Dallas now has inarguably the best backcourt in the league, and there's a very good chance they're not done dealing. Enjoy the moment!

Yeah, I have my doubts about Kyrie, just like everybody that's been paying attention to his antics over the years, but this could turn out great as well.

Of course they will.  It's called "projection".

You will, and I bet this caring starts up WAY before 2029.

Wait until they let Wood walk.

Luka
Kyrie
best backcourt in the league

Wood
One of the most underrated skilled offensive bigs, that thrives alongside Luka and is showing defensive skills more and more

Two young- players with amazing potential:
Hardy
Green

Glue players defense/dedication/professionalsm/consistency:
Powell
Maxi

I mean, that's a recipe for a chamipionship team. It has all the components!

Just need to trade THJ for another shooter that is less annoying.

Good.  '27 has got to go.

Wait until you're watching the 2028-29 Mavericks, without Luka, winning 10 games so that Brooklyn has a shot at that year's version of Wemby.

It's not like they'll have a championship to show for the time between then and now. That should be painfully obvious.
Luka now knows we will do whatever it takes to win. Including spend(i guess we were wrong about that not happening) We included Luka in the discussions as has been reported. Luka is accepting of Kyrie and everything that comes with that.

Specifically this season. Luka has been playing like an MVP this season. Kyrie will give his all pre-FA for sure. A genuine title shot in one season is worth something

Long term with or without Kyrie i think this is more of an indication that Luka is going nowhere and our picks will be worthless for a long time

Keeping Luka happy for the next 10 years is all that matters. There will be plenty of other picks to trade down the road to make new teams

Soon you and Luka both will realize what any person who follows the NBA as a WHOLE already knows:

Not only did this move nudge the team in the opposite direction of "winning" but there's a very good chance it has made the hole impossible to dig out of.

Where are they coming from?

They are obviously trading the 2027 first and Hardy, too.

Beasley/Vanderbilt?
Harris/Bamba?
Crowder/Saric?
Hayward/Plumee?
Rozier/Plumlee?

Something along those lines.

Ya, Kyrie will be 36? in 29. Two things, if things work out and he’s still here, he’ll be in steep decline. If he’s gone before then, there’s a good chance Luka is too and we will have been in scrambling mode since he left. That pick is pretty valuable. This is the reason I was wanting to get younger with this team, so tgat when we do use our draft assets to get players, our core is still young enough to recover when that guy is gone or useless.

That's quite a few negative posts for one day, don't you think?  Why are you a Mavs fan?  You seem to hate the franchise.  There are 29 other teams, you know.

...and this deal makes that impossible.

If we a title, absolutely it makes it possible.
After reading this board, I feel like I need to go outside and kick the dog.

Trading Luka, of course. Although, after I said that, Cuban wouldn’t ever let his FO trade him so he walks for free in FA.
Simmons
O´Neale
DFS
Durant
Claxton

Pretty good defensive unit.
Since the Mavs are apparently all-in, they need to send everything not bolted down for Siakam.

Toronto gets Mavs 2025 and 2027 FRP, Draymond Green's expirer, J.Green, Kuminga, McGee,

Warriors get Wood, THJ

Mavs get Siakam
