I like this for the Lakers, but probably doesn’t move needle much. Also like for Utah. Solid gamble that 27 lakers pick will be good. Interested in protection though.
Not sure what Minny is doing. I actually like Conley more than Russell. But at 35 with another year left sort of feels hollow. We will see.
This seems like a really good return for Westbrook and a #1. They would have had to use their #1 to get rid of him anyway. Seems like they got quality players for free.
Ainge went from wanting a first each for all 3 players to getting a first, but having to give a second for all 3? Deadlines make deals!
How do we feel about Westbrook bought out and joining the Mav’s. #3rdballhandler.

Probably unnecessary now and not worth the headache.

The asking price is insane. He could start along with Randle (Lakers days) for the Against The Mav All Stars though.
Is no one going to post the Woj Bomb?

I thought you meant a new one involving the Mavs and checked twitter and realized you were just talking about the Russ/DLo trade.
Where’s Kamm when you need him…
Mavs get Draymond Green and Kuminga
Warriors get THJ, Wood and Hardy
Warriors get more manageable pieces ahead of Draymond either being a huge re-sign or leaving them with a talent/cap void
Mavs double down on all-in this season or MAJOR cap space this summer
Plus, this is almost an identical type deal to Kyrie's -- two role players for a better player who's a malcontent
Hardy for Kuminga is an upside basketball deal.

I would do it. Don’t think GS does it.
lakers pick is the most valuable piece in the trade it seems like. D'Angelo aint a bad alternative for them imho, while malik and vanderbilt are solid role players that bring them immediate help. the package lakers receive would be a great one for us as well and I would welcome a sign&trade with lakers in summer to get that package in exchange for kyrie if he still wants to join force with lebron by then.
So does the Lakers trade prevent them being able to sign Kyrie in the offseason without doing a S&T with us?

I agree. Probably doesn't move the needle much for the playoffs, but they added much needed depth and it's all contingent on the health of AD and Bron. Lakers got the best end of this deal IMO.

A couple of things from this.
First, it should be clear that there was never a chance we could dump a bunch of our bad contracts for Russ. Vanderbilt's 4 mil is the only money that is not expiring or could be optioned away.
If we do the math on the patient route facilitating Lakers getting Irving, we are probably giving up Dorian and Din to Nets, McGee to Lakers and getting Russ and a protected first from Lakers. That would have been underwhelming.
