And he is obviously a good athlet with perfect measurements for a modern wing. Thing is that his athleticism isn´t translating to good defense. He still looks like a rookie. Game hasn´t slowed down for him.

He looks the part.  Great size.  I don't know if it's a problem with lateral quickness, but as you said his defense is horrible.  His rebounding is even worse.  10.2 rebounding rate for a 6'8" 217lbs wing?????

Wasn't Reddish drafted with our pick from the Luka/Trae trade?

Correct me if i’m wrong but a cap at 134M would take us out of the tax and we would have the full MLE

EDIT - Nevermind as Fischer already backpedaling. I might have to put Jake back in the “grain of salt” camp until further notice. Dude just throws out everything,
It sounds like the cap increase is 10% more than last year, but only a little more than already expected. So no major change there.
The Mavericks and Pistons, according to multiple league sources, have engaged in talks about the Pistons absorbing one of their sizable contracts into cap space. It’s not known if the Pistons want additional compensation, which would create a holdup.

Rules out Bertans, I'd think since that would certainly require compensation.  THJ or Powell?

I would guess Powell+cash+2nd for air. THJ is too important after losing Brunson.

My bet is Bertans, with compensation. It probably won't happen, but it's pretty telling that they're still looking for ways to reduce payroll. To me, this means they really, really want to get out from under the tax.
After listening to Windhorst, it seems the Nets are adamant about not having a redo of Kyrie's BS.  How about THJ + Bertans for Kyrie?  I say this not because I want anything to do with Captain Contrarian, but because it would create $40 mil in 2023 cap space.

I'd think Bertans would be in the FRP range of compensation which is why I'm assuming it is not him.  But to your point, Powell alone doesn't accomplish your line of thinking.  I wonder if Dinwiddie is in play.

And maybe Powell could be useful at the TDL as an expiring?

Mo Bamba has never moved my needle and it certainly appears adding another center in the tax MLE range is not a priority for the Mavs.  Although, I am in favor of any swings with upside.   Those are the types of moves that interest me most at this stage.

Ya, I don't see Wood as a PF.

I don't think the Nets would be interested.  THJ will become a positive asset after this season but Bertans wouldn't and is seemingly redundant to Joe Harris.

If you want cap space, something far less ideal but a similar situation would be the Lakers as it seems they are sniffing around Buddy Love again.

I think they would do two out of three (THJ, Dinwiddie, Kleber) for Irving straight up just to get rid of him (Cuban will then throw two firsts on top).

Dinwiddie is Simmons insurance or the 6th man. Kleber instantly becomes their best big next to Durant.

For future reference aka next summer when Kleber walks for nothing, just remember this moment when you said: How dare you trade Kleber. Tongue

A Maxi extension has been on my mind for a while now.
