Why would Chicago do that?

No idea. Just heard it on a podcast and wanted to see what people thought.

To reduce payroll long term, maybe? I also don't think Powell is as useless as the current board consensus on him. Far from it, actually.

Would that satiate our blood lust?

That doesn't really move the needle for me.

At the end of the day though we're turning Powell into a better trade asset I suppose. Can't believe they let Dragic get away....AGAIN

Don't worry, they'll sign Kemba Walker any day now.

Not really true. The defensive problems of White/Lavine really come exclusively from playing with each other.

If you keep them apart they are actually doing pretty well "individually".

I did this for a previous season, when the discussion of Lavine came up.

So I went back in for their 2021/2022 season and it´s still pretty much true.

The six Bulls five man line-ups with the best DRTG (>30 minutes together) feature

White in 1, 3, 4
Lavine in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

All those line-ups have a massive overall net positive rating, except the #3 line-up which surprise surprise features White/Lavine together again.

This doesn´t change much no matter how you re-adjust the filters. There is a clear negative defensive(overall) correlation between Lavine/White playing together.
Anyone else seeing rumors about Bullock going to the Sixers? He posted these on his Instagram feed.

Could be he is just going to visit Philly and a friend is making a big deal about it

For fun - would you swap THJ/Powell/Bullock for Harris/Thybulle?
My view is that Dallas would be giving up the 2 best players in that swap, so no. Guess lots of people see something in Tobias that I don’t.

Nope.  I would consider Bertans/Powell/Bullock, but I'm not sending THJ and Bullock.

Harris is a better scorer, creator, playmaker, rebounder and defender than Timmy.  About the only thing Timmy does better is volume 3 shooting, but Harris can still space the floor.  Its hard to make the argument that Timmy is better.  Bullock is the better defender, but not by that much and Harris is a significantly better offensive player.  Harris is the best player in that trade, but that contract is bad.

When I’ve watched Tobias, he’s been a first-quarter scorer and a non-factor in crunch time. I have little respect for that kind of player. Timmy and Reggie, on the other hand, would be welcome in my foxhole anytime.

As the Nets should. He’s under contract for 4 more years.
Clutch points just proposed this trade

Mavs get: Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, Charles Bassey, 2024 second-round pick

Sixers get: Reggie Bullock, Davis Bertans, Dwight Powell

https://clutchpoints.com/mavs-2-moves-da...ee-agency/

I love Reggie, but I’d do that.

Let's revise that ...

Sixers get: Tim Hardaway, Davis Bertans, Reggie Bullock, 2nd round pick
Mavs get: Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey, Charles Bassey

I love Reggie, but I’d do that.

I think Maxey is worth two 1sts at this point to PHI, at least.

Unloading Harris' contract is a first. Bullock is worth a first. So that's 2 first rounders right there.

Then unloading DB is a 1st.

And if RB is worth a 1st, then Maxey is probably worth 3. I would suspect he is near untouchable to PHI.

If Gobert is worth 4 1/2 firsts then Maxey is worth probably 2.
