Why not just send Powell to SA in the original Chi-SA deal and separately Aminu to Mavs TE?

Deal 1:
SA in: Powell, Aminu, Young = roughly 35 incoming
SA out: DeRozan: roughly 27 outgoing (add min salary to make it work)

Chi in: DeRozan: roughly 25 incoming
Chi out: Aminu, Young, Markkanen = roughly 32 outgoing

Dal in: Markkanen roughly 15
Dal out: Powell roughly 11
Lauri and Dragic situations are fascinating to me. I think it is pretty clear both would like to play in Dallas.   Goran definitely and I would assume Dallas would be high on Lauri's wish list as well.   But Dallas has no cap room and limited assets (I would not give up Green for either at this point). Neither player is in Toronto's or Chicago long term plans.   But giving either player away or taking a lackluster return, probably isn't the best decision for either at this point as well.

The Mavs are usually not in this position of having two good (average to pretty good) players wanting to play in Dallas.   Teams like the Lakers typically find ways to make deals happen like this.   We will see if the Mavs can find a way to leverage any pressure they can.

I find it very difficult it happens at this time.    Mavs need it though.    The offseason moves may all "fit", but I can make the case they are one of the bottom 5 teams this offseason of increasing their pure talent of the roster.    That is not what  I had in mind a few weeks ago.
Looks like Luka had a party after signing his contract.  Supposedly Boban also showed up.

To me it seems like Chicago and Toronto should take what they can get, Chicago 2 seconds and a TPE and Toronto some Millions in a buyout.

But both try to extract something that just isn´t there and will do a trade they shouldn´t to save face later.

Some photos inside, nothing outrageous. They had one of more expensive singers from the Balkan area

I don't agree for Toronto. They can always wait till TDL and dump him for close to nothing than. In the meanwhile they can explore trades - they can trade him for worse contract and assets, they can include him in a trade for a star with bunch of picks included. All of this is easier to do with Dragic than with Powell (or nothing).

I could agree for Markkanen from Chicago perspective, but New Orleans has a 17 million TPE. So Markkanen might be more inclined to sign with them for more money.
Any word on that meeting that was reported that Dragic and his agent were having with Toronto about his future?

While I find it annoying that Josh isn't playing in the summer league, I don't see anything unusual about it. We just all like our conspiracy theories. "This can only mean one thing."

I never said "This can only mean one thing."   In his specific situation, it is odd, and that's not just me on a messageboard thinking that.  You can slap your knee all you want, cornpone or cornpop or whatever.  Wink  #baddude

That´s exactly what I mean. Raptors will hold on Dragic, pay him for nothing and then make a bad trade like Memphis later on.

Word an the street is signing with Dallas is worth some millions compared to sign with NO.

If they would have been an option he would have been included in the Ball-trade.
And I don´t think NO can pay more for Markkanen than the Bulls paid for Ball.

Markkanen will finally sign the QO and insist on a trade to Dallas and we will only offer 1 second then.

I think Markkanen loses his bird rights by signing Qo, so he has very limited value for Dallas at that point, as they will not be able to resign him.

They can pay him up to 120% of the QO. But yes he is worth less then, than he is now. That´s what I said.
We got the 2 Browns, now we need the 2 Whites and we'll be diverse!

Was it any better than the other joke? I'm on my way to drop the 2 Brown's off at the pool.

Eh?

Just pullin your chain the last few posts, I do that to my kid. Did you not see the other option for a joke in there?

I'm on my way to drop the 2 Brown's off at the pool.
A story from the Giannis biography...it is interesting to see what Kidd was like as a coach. I think it would be incredibly naive to think Kidd would do things the same at this time.

That was his last head coaching gig so we really don't know.  There was lots of unflattering stuff about Kidd from his brief Nets tenure too.
