Instead he preferred the cap space that was eventually used on Delon Wright. It really is hard to overestimate how badly Cuban screwed the pooch the last few offseasons. I don't care who the GM was, it was Cuban making the decisions.

It really is up to Dirk to wear a cape and save us.

Only he can turn Mark's ear if anyone can.

Dirk literally has to be a Super Hero behind closed doors to get Cuban to shape up.

May he have all the ice cream he ever wants.
I love Brunson..but how we are built .. .. without commercial assets and surely Jalen wanting to be a starter at this point in his career .. Maybe he should be moved either on the deadline or on ST in the offseason ... despite which is very good..the guards of small size and doubtful defemsa, have a limited value..on the other hand I do not see any team offering more than MLE for DFS, I think we will have it ..
Jalen / KP for Wood / Gordon ..? . .
or
Jalen / DFS for Robinson / Knox / Dallas 23 ..?
.. this would give us a good young flame protector and we would own all of our selections

Interesting ideas. New York one looks very good for them and I would only do it, if I knew there is no way I can keep Brunson. I don't really think Robinson is any special and Knox is dead money. If we get Robinson Mavs have to move on from Powell/WCS. Are Mavs really ready to move on from their center core?

As for the Houston one, I am not sure it makes sense for them. They certainly need a PG and could see Brunson as a long term solution. However, I am affraid KP is a big negative value. So in essence they are paying a great value contract of Wood and slightly negative Gordon contract for the privilige of eating 40 mil of additional salary from KP and Brunson.

One idea I was looking at, if Pop thinks he can turn KP into something. Thad Young and White for KP. But I guess there would need to be assets involved from our side, which I would not be prepared to pay. I agree with the notion, that KP would bring zero value back and it makes little sense to trade him at this point.

Ya, part of my trade ideas with SA had KP/JB for White/Young and a swap of Green for Johnson or Walker. We would still need another playmaker swapping White for JB, but with his recent tear against SA, maybe they value him a bit?

SA's deal would be to shut down KP for the year and tank for a high pick, then come back next year with what might be a pretty decent team.

My guess would be that SA wants Pop to get that most victories by a coach title. He is around 30 wins away from it. That is why I think a full tank is not acceptable for SA. Once Pop reaches that milestone, he will retire and SA will start fresh.

Pretty hilarious video.

One interesting wrinkle I noticed was KP carrying a backpack and moving well. Kind of casts even more doubt on a herniated disc theory. The FO are probably sitting him out of an abundance of caution because KP is made of glass like this guy:

Just a heads up but this video was released originally on opening night, this was their flight to Atlanta I believe.
Really like the Mavs blue and green warmups....wish they would do an update to their branding and make the blue and green dominant colors in their main jerseys.

It was always going to be a 2 team race Brad.
Waited more than 20 years for this moment. Now it finally happened. South west sucks.

Grizzlies 6-4  5th
Spurs 3-7 13th
Rockets 1-9 14th
Pelicans 1-10 15th

And the Mavs are in a perfect position to take advantage.
