It may be a good thing the moratorium is over tomorrow, maybe that will push some of this Dragic uncertainty to conclusion, so I can begin the grieving process.  Tongue

Well, he almost got the kind of money he was looking for at the end of the process. I bet he didn't expect to have to go to Charlotte to get it, but I also bet he's feeling a lot better today than he was a couple of days ago.

And as you opine about whether that's a smart or stupid decision by Cuban, know that that reaction is also a waste of breath. The door is still closed to Schroder.

What did Schroder do to Cubes to seal the door completely like that? I mean this is the same guy that was willing to give Kenyon Martin a chance IIRC.

I agree that we shouldn't go for him, just curious why Cuban is so vehemently against the idea.

Jeeeeeeeezus.

I'd have been pretty excited about Oubre on a bargain deal. 13 mil is not a bargain deal for Oubre. Seems like CHA bid against themselves here.

Do they even have enough money for Lauri now?

Bryan Guitierez told me during that draft that the Mavericks had "some serious concerns" with Schroeder. I pressed him for details but he would not provide them. Ever since then, I have been hoping we'd find out, but whatever it was/is, I've never found any clue.

I have read and heard in many places that the dude is almost universally hated by teammates pretty much everywhere he plays, however.
Wonder if Oubre to Charlotte kills the Lauri possibility. Not sure how much money they still had left.

I haven’t been very high on Lauri, but I also thought he’d command over the MLE, so if we can get him cheap somehow, I’d be more ok with that.

Would LOVE Lauri on the cheap.

The fact he's still unsigned means he's probably not interested in taking a paycut.

Seems to me, Chi has a derth of secondary playmakers. I believe White will be squeezed out of his starting job which could cause waves from him if he isn’t moved. Do we have the assets for him? Probably not.

Ricky loves Kevin.  Not happening.

If we're talking about Coby White, I could see Chicago liking the idea of Maxi on their team... they really need more bigs who can defend.

Yep, that to me is our young secondary playmaker. I don’t think Maxi is enough, but I’d be willing to part with a draft compensation for him (if we could ever get our ability to give draft picks up again!).

So do we.
Brendan Haywood on NBA TV gave props last night to Michael Finley for his promotion to Vice President of Basketball operations in addition to Assistant GM. I haven’t found anything about that on here. Haywood said Finley was here when he played a looooong time ago and really deserves his promotion.
I really like Haywood as a wise and interesting talking head on NBA radio and elsewhere.
Jake Fischer said on the Greenroom with Dalton Trigg that the Mavs expect Dragic to be bought out and that HE expects Dragic to be bought out. The trade noise has completely died down.

He also said that the Mavs explored a number of sign-and-trades this week that never came to fruition. He has an article coming on Monday to detail what those possible moves were.
