I would be fine with either.

Definitely in on Boucher as a DP replacement. Hate to lose Green though....but I am at least willing to talk.
Kind of can't believe we're talking about potentially giving up a future first (which we really don't have anyway before 2027 still) or Green to facilitate something where we have all the leverage. They clearly don't want Dragic but need to get Lowry to Miami so unless they're offering Siakam or OG for more assets we should be waiting to see if there's a buyout. Feels like the Kemba news may put some more pressure on Toronto.

Dragic + Anunoby for KP + WCS + Green (maybe a few 2nds)
Not alone at all. I think of Siakam as the target cause of his discontent with the team last year and now that Lowry is out, having the much younger Anunoby would be their future to build around.
I don't understand why you post that random fan twitter as if they know any details of anything the Mavs are doing. Might as well put the dreams of posters here in tweets and then post them like it's news.

Not posting them as news. Hope that is clear. Posting as conversation starters only.

Not saying you were but just pointing out any rando can make tweets. I haven't seen anyone credible saying Mavs are paying Dinwiddie $20 million a year or whatever.

Wizards were planning to pay that, so I assume the guy is just taking a similar number in this hypothetical. I hate Dinwiddie at that number. Closer to $10M? Now I am listening.

Seems like he needs to get something done before he earns any nicknames.

"Mavs don't want to pay $19M" is one of the "obstacles" to a Dragic deal we've heard mentioned.
Also
"Mavs don't want to give up Powell and WCS"
"Mavs don't want to give up Green, Brunson, Terry"
"Mavs just want to sign Dragic after he's bought out"
"Raps would not buy out Dragic, they'd rather keep him"
"Raps just want a team that will take Dragic into space"
"Raps don't want Powell's contract"
"Raps want lots of value because Dragic is valuable"
And on and on we go.
Meanwhile, Dragic is commenting on how he loves the idea of playing with Luka, and how he's not sure where he will be playing, and how he's waiting on a "third team" to be included in the MIA-TOR trade.
My observation? None of the "obstacles" are The One Big Thing to be taken at face value. They are all just negotiating items by one side or the other, a bunch of negotiating through the media, as everyone is jockeying to get an outcome more to their preference. I'm sure there's
some truth in
some of those items (for example, it's probably true that the Mavs wouldn't want to give up BOTH Powell and WCS, and leave the roster so thin at center) but there's a lot of BS-ery too.
I think they'll figure it out. And I'm glad to see the Mavs are not just rolling over and giving TOR whatever they happen to demand.

My personal take on it is that the Mavs dont' really want Dragic all that bad.
They want to swap Powell for Dragic for the obvious reasons of too many centers, and a lack of playmaking guards. And to make Luka happy of course.
But they don't value him in any sort of way. The value in the deal is offloading Powell which has been what the Mavs have been rumored to be trying to do the last few days.
That sets them up to be opportunistic in trades this year and free agency next year because they would have all their contracts easy tradable good players. They all sort of have some value.

Seems like both sides are posturing (?) like they are willing to walk away from any Dragic deal....we'll see.
Yeah, and from my amature seat, I think you have to be willing to follow through on your posturing for it to be effective.
If TOR is willing to keep Dragic as an expiring then the Mavs holding out may not work. So then the Mavs have to know how badly they want Dragic and whether they really would want Dinwiddie as the next option. If Dinwiddie isn't acceptable and they really want Dragic, then they may have to give a little on the standoff. Or maybe they're willing to lose out on Dragic and just move on to something else entirely.
