Green has turned a corner. It's plain to see. Kudos to those who didn't give up on him - I certainly did.

Outside of a few shots he passes up and instead drives the ball to the defense, I think his recent play has been inspired.

He has taken Ntilikina's job, for the time being.

Great post @"DanSchwartzgan".

I don't think the turn around is on any one or two players finding their groove (as you showed so well).....my take is that it is the team collectively understanding and becoming more comfortable with what the coaches and new schemes are asking. And I now have a strange confidence in this TEAM regardless of who is playing or not. I feel like they will give the effort, energy, and more and more the execution needed to beat the majority of teams.
This ranking has Dallas 3rd in total defense.

Man, that Iztok. Where's he been all my life? He may now be my mavs leader. Don't worry @"KillerLeft", you're still my mavs daddy.

That would be bad news considering we'd have to attach an asset to be free of his contract.

That's KP :-D

Hardaway and Josh expressed a similar sentiment last night.  It is also an ongoing theme with KP.  Does anyone else thing this is a...not a shot, but a sales job directed at Luka.  Like..."see what we look like when we do what coach is asking us (you) to do".

Just seems dumb to me. Here we have a 23 year old phenom that has shown the ability to carry a franchise and we're asking him to change his approach versus the role players changing theirs.
I don't think playing well offensively against one of the worst defensive teams of all time should carry any sort of weight where that 23 year old phenom should change his ways.

Luka has never been the issue these last 3 years. If guys can't play well next to him then they got to go.

Maybe, maybe not. I can see the Thunder accepting a Burke+WCS for Favors trade as it saves them 2 mil and gives the Mavs an open roster spot.

And what of KP?  I'd also argue it's much easier for someone of Luka's talent to adapt than the role players that surround them.

I don't think anyone is saying "Luka is the issue".  The issue is his style creates a ceiling and that ceiling is probably short of what it could be if he adapted his style.

Haven't seen enough of KP+Luka this year for me to draw anything from. So far I've liked what KP has done overall. I still think the two can work if KP just dove to the basket off of rolls.

There's a point to the talent level making it easier for Luka to adapt than the role players, but if the talent of the role players are an obstacle then they should be replaced anyways.

There's a lot to like so far the last 3 weeks with what the Mavs have been doing. I don't think Luka's style runs against what the Mavs have been doing as a whole. The team looks revitalized with better defense and are hitting their shots more two things that are independent of Luka's style. The extra ball movement is a plus and  I don't think Luka diminishes that when he's out there anyways given the quality of looks he generates.

If it were a dump, Presti could just ask for the TPE.

Pointless stepback 3s don't take the life out of the teams energy?  Or are you going to say they are late shot clock attempts?  Because I'm gonna ask why he dribbled for 14 seconds until the clock was out?

Over dribbling, taking bad shots and bad defense are morale killers, imo.

I think there is a luka/team energy issue with Lukas offensive play style.   I think guys are more dialed in and engaged if they are incorporated in the offense.  And play harder on defense when they get touches on offense.

Lukas current style of play is like a 1000hp drag car....ideal for racing(playoffs) but not ideal for everyday driving(reg season)

To suggest guys should be moved because of lukas style is not a fair stance.  I don't care if they are paid to win, nit to have fun.  I'll give you that Luka doesn't turn the ball over and gets guys open looks and that should equal winning.  But do guys get bored and check out because of it?

Over dribbling, bad step back threes when he could pass and get other guys involved and bad defense are energy killers
