So, what you're saying is that those pics happened during one of their work out sessions where they were drawing up new plays for the Mavs as they plan their Slovenian take over of the NBA?

So don’t think that would be the only hold up.
I think the Raptors want a 1st and the Mavs don’t want to give them one.
Both are just waiting for the other to blink.

Plus Raptors probably don’t want Powell’s 2 yr salary. So maybe a third team is required to take Powell but Mavs don’t want to give another asset for say OKC to take Powell.

Why risk it though? Just because Mavs/Raptors fans need immediate gratification?

Regarding Powell´s two year salary. They are 10M into the luxury tax this year, so replacing Dragic´s $19.5M salary with Powell´s $11M salary saves the ownership group almost $20M this year, for a team that is not a contender and has a 1st round ceiling (if they even get into the real play-offs).

The Mavs are in a stronger negotiation position imho otherwise they´d have no hope of dumping Powell. Ujiri can sell Brown as a prospect and the Canadian angle with Powell.

If it ends up being Powell/Brown outgoing, I hope the Mavs sign Hartenstein as a replacement.

That would make huge waves three days later, when the Wolves players are finally recognized by some basketball insiders. Big Grin
Goran posted a clip on instagram of him running on a treadmill and he was a pretty bulky brace on his right leg.   I don't think he plays with a brace on his knee.  Did he have any surgery or is this just precaution?  Seems strange to wear a brace when running straight on a treadmill.

Whoppee....
Here’s a good write-up on JaQuori. Although they pretty much had me at 40% 3-PT shooting. Judging by the off-season acquisitions, Dallas definitely has a type.

Never heard of him.   23 years old.  Looks like he started at Oregon State and than transferred to UC Santa Barbara.  Looks like after his freshman year he had post traumatic stress after witnessing a terrorist attack on a team trip to Spain.

Looking at his highlights, he looks like what I hoped Terry would have looked like this summer.    Doesn't look like the greatest athlete but interesting.

Finally watched the press conference. JKidd mentions defense everytime he gets the mic. Messaging from Coach is underway.

I bet Bobi goes "Hollywood " after he retires.
So, I admit I haven't been keeping close tabs on the situation, but what have we heard recently that merits the "confident in getting Dragic" line remaining in the topic title?  Last I saw Toronto wasn't considering a buyout and the Mavs weren't all that interested in trading assets.

It's been a holding pattern ever since mid August. Last mention of the topic from Stein and others said the Mavs were confident in getting Dragic either through trade, or most likely through a buyout.

Title really hasn't changed since and the offseason is it's deadest time of the year.

In the last few days or so Tim Cato and Jake Fischer in a joint conversation mentioned that DAL was confident they were getting Dragic.

Hopefully Cuban has to see that every day on his drive to Mavs HQ...
Jake Fischer on Goran Dragic: "All my sources around the league have told me they expect Goran Dragic to be bought out by the Toronto Raptors and swiftly sign with the Dallas Mavericks."

Where did he say that?  With Cato?
