Did Shamet's play really warrant asking for a first round pick?  Or is that just positioning.   He seemed to have some good moments but it didn't look like he had much trust in the coaching staff and really didn't step up to the opportunity that he was brought in for.  Right?

That is rich for me.   I am not sure how we can give him 30 million and afford Hardaway Jr.  I still think he is in the 25 million range.

If Mavs can't beat out New Orleans for him that will be tough.   New Orleans could very much have a new front office next year if things don't turnaround quickly.   They could also have an unhappy Zion.   I like their talent, but they really need to have success quick.  Success in a playoff appearance...not a deep run.

I don´t really see the comparisation. The Dirk-Holger relationship is one of the strangest things I have ever seen. Cannot think of another rich superstar in his 20s that spent most of his summer with a guy in his 60s. And it wasn´t all about coaching and basketball. They traveled together.Hiking in Australia and New Zealand after the 07 season. Just the two of them for more than five weeks.

My favorite piece of Mavs news so far is that it seems like we know how to tamper now. We're not hearing anymore about how tight lipped the Mavs are. Contact Kawhi's people,  get a "no". Move on.
