There's that hopeless, non-evidence, all hate based opinion we all know and love.  (I mean, the tweet's author, not Kam. ?)
(09-27-2021, 02:28 PM)Kammrath Wrote: [ -> ]I think as far back as early 2021 I put forward that my hypothesis was that KP's issues were in the head and in the heart. I think he HATED RC so much and was in such a bad place mentally that he could not muster the 100% effort that NBA D requires. I didn't see physical issues in him last year, I saw focus, passion, and "give-a-damn" issues. I don't think it had to do with touching the ball on O. It is hard to give full effort when you hate your environment.

And THERE's the "I hate KP" driven analysis that just runs great opinion right there.  Bitterness isn't a category of statistical analytics.

And Kam throws this to the curb because it doesn't fit the 'I hate KP" narrative he'd built.

Man, I greatly appreciate your energy on the board, but your skewed, hypothesis-seeking-evidence analysis of KP is lame.

You just got my analysis and I've been doing this before most of this crew was on Yuku with Fish, so already been doing that....actually BEFORE Twitter existed, I believe, so there's that.

I would proudly hang that in a place of high honor, my guy.

If you guys do that, I'll post a photo of myself standing in front of it wearing a cardigan and smoking a corn cob pipe.

I got your analysis of the KP haters. What do you think about KP going into the season?
I think he came back too early and I do think he was limited.  To me, I'm in the hopeful, but make or break for him.

As long as he is on this team, he's going to have to be the second guy...there just isn't a path around it, unless they trade for a second established star, who is clearly better.

I think that Kidd will give him every chance to get better and will work to feature KP in some instances, because Luka may be the best person to take a shot on every possession in a vacuum, but he cant win every possession in an entire game, especially not over a series or a season.  He has to have someone else, and for now, it has to be KP.

I do agree with Kamm that part of it was mental last year with KP.  When you are injured and unable to perform up to your standards, it messes with your head and with you emotionally.  So, I think it was both mental and physical, but I dont just make it out like he's a jerk spoiled brat who doesnt care, but more realistic, in my opinion, that he's trying to do what his body wouldnt let him and he and RC couldnt figure it out.  This is the biggest season of his career, so it is now or never.

Best case:  He does great, he's healthy, it works and we make a playoff run.
2nd best case:  Same as the first, and FO puts together a trade to get out from under his injury stuff.

Thanks Bama! That was great!
Sorry Jalen Brunson, your Eagles stink.
1.  Thanks Kamm!   Wow, what a job putting all of that in one place.

2.  Did anyone ever hear from or see anything from Burke.  I hope he’s the odd man out.  Sterling makes him useless and I’d rather keep Moses and Frank.  I have no strong attachment to Terry, wonder if he will have more trade value than Burke next summer.

3.  Looking forward to seeing newly revitalized KP.  I think the ball is going to move and our O will be a thing of beauty about a month into the season.

4.  I really hope Frank sticks.  It will be tough to play him or Green alongside Powell or Willie, but there will be lineups where we go smaller and will be able to afford a non-three-point shooting wing instead of a non-three-point shooting big.

5.  It is going to take some time to figure out a rotation and it sounds like what we run regular season might not be exactly the way we run in the post season.  The KP with a big thing was done in LA with AD at the four in the regular season.  When the playoffs arrived, more AD at the five.  It makes sense as it preserves KP’s health. The good news is we have plenty of bigs and plenty of wings to do either.

6.  I haven’t seen much reporting on extensions for DFS and JB?

It looks like the Locked On Mavs guys talked to lots of players that maybe didn't all make the larger press conference. I'm most interested in the Terry interview, as apparently he talks about why he missed time last year. But you can also see Burke on the list.
