It's not that complicated. Boban is Luka's friend, it's almost a way to give Luka more money than just his massive new contract. Plus Boban will probably make back that money as the Mavs' mascot.

Makes sense, they wouldn't be able to trade him, if the second year was ungaranteed and he can be a Dragic at the next FA now.

I get the Nick Collison angle with Boban but it would be a lot less painful if we didn't have Diamond "11 Million Per" Powell on the roster.

Boban started in 3 playoff games, he’s a bargain at that price!
