I honestly believe it’s time for us to mentally move on from Josh Green. I do not believe he will make it to the summer as a Maverick. At this point, he has “trade deadline throw in” written all over him.

I don't see him being moved as I can't imagine anyone trading for him.

Rookie deal. You can sneak those in without the other team even realizing who they're agreeing to take back. It's a rounding tool.

When the Mavs hit on FN, it made JG completely pointless IMO. FN is exactly what you hoped JG MIGHT get to.

Getting zero minutes with your national team told me everything I needed to know about JG.

Well, I don't know that we should just accept that they "hit on FN" just yet, but it's certainly looking promising and I agree with your point.

And for as much hate as Brown gets around here, I have a feeling that he's got a better chance of figuring things out than Green. And then there's Bullock, of course.

Those three signings told us everything we needed to know about how the new management views Green, imho.

This, too.

True as a throw-in.  A fun game to play would be who we think might be getting moved by the TDL.

I'm ready to call FN a hit simply because of how comfortable he looks on the offensive end handling the ball.  I know this is a big if, but if his shots start falling that's a steal.

Yeah, man...I can't BELIEVE how calm and collected he has looked. His shot HAS been falling, and I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, because this is not the player I expected.
Yeah, we can't be positive on Green right now.   I do like how his teammates like him.  I like his basketball IQ an I like how he appears to always play hard.  But not being able to get any meaningful minutes is concerning.

If I squint, I can see a role for him moving forward where he fits a needed role.  But right now it may be just hope on my part.

Listening to Norm and Donnie, they think Luka yelling in practice and putting ice on his knee with the press standing right there was some JKidd gamesmanship

Every team needs a Corey Brewer IMO sitting and being ready every so many games if needed...

I don't know what to think of that assertion. I mean, how insane would it be for the head coach to go up to his super star to fake hurting himself more to throw off the upcoming opponent...?

Is it bad that I kinda believe that is something Kidd would do though...?
If you watch what Golden St. has with their wing depth, you should hang on to Green and keep developing him. Even though FN has taken his place, you still should try to keep developing him. The more versatile wing depth the better.

I look at what Gary Payton Jr. brings to the table and cannot help but see a lot of Josh Green in his skillset.

IMO the Mavs need to move on from WCS, Moses Brown, Dwight Powell, and possibly, Trey Burke. With those guys and the Trade Exception we should be able to capitalize on something useful.

My top targets are:

Marvin Bagley
Lauri Markkanen
Richaun Holmes
Goran Dragic
