I love Boban and would be happy to have him back at the minimum as the 15th man (I personally think he was likely one of the locker room saviors for why they didn't implode last season), but roster spots especially among big men, seem to be at a premium. Unless something changes, I don't see how you can bring him back.

100% agree. I cannot even imagine the disaster last season would have been with no Boban.
It would scare fans but idc. Give me Kelly Oubre Jr. baby!!! Shot 37% from 3 the last 34 games of the season, 47% from the field, 17 ppg, and 6 rpg. Rough start to the year really hurt his numbers.

25 years old, athletic, long. I would love to see what Kidd could do with him, especially with Luka passing him the ball. When we are this thin in talent, we gotta roll the dice.

Also, I think there is a decent chance he is had at a "discount." $15M/yr for 3 seasons?

Agreed. I think Oubre is one of the guys that will have to settle for a discount deal (from his POV), unless the Knicks are interested. I have already said I don´t think the Warriors want him back. They would jump at a S&T for Maxi Kleber, which would put Oubre´s salary in the $12-13M range. More than MLE, but still a decent contract.

If a Carlisle yells behind a Boban does it make a sound?

I don't hate the Boban news.  He is an end of the bench guy who can produce at the few times when you need him to.   Plus, he is well liked across the league.

I do think Powell needs to go and probably Burke too.  Powell doesn't post much at all on social media, but I have found it interesting he has not been in any of the workout photos at the Mavs practice facility.   He did do the Olympic qualifying thing and I am sure he wanted some time away from basketball.  But he would be a guy I would expect to see pop up at the team facility.   I don't know...maybe he is there just not pictured.  I haven't seen Burke pictured either.

The only person reporting the Boban news is Marc Stein, who has been beaten on all the Mavs breaking news so far...

Richardson to Celtics
Addition of Moses Brown to the deal
Mavs picking up the WCS option

So not sure how connected he still is. I doubt Stein ever went on 0-3 in the past, when it came to breaking some Mavs news. Maybe he still has sources within the old regime, but it does not seem like he´s that connected/looped in with the new MBT.

Per @JakeLFischer on @SpotifyGrnroom, it was reported that THJ is NO LONGER a priority for the Mavs in FA. #MFFL

Some may recall I mentioned the possibility of Lowry/THJ being a package deal.  Might kill Sterling Brown also.

Remind me of the logic, if you don't mind.

Maybe the Mavs are wisely low balling compared to other offers.  I don't really buy that THJ/Lowry are a package deal given his career trajectory and his relative success in Dallas.
