The remarks have been, to some extent, off-the-cuff, and tbh, not that consistent. Thus, we have reasonable people interpreting them as a firm indication of a drastic sea change in future operations, or a sign that the structure will be mostly the same with some different faces, and everywhere in between.

We're a fan board, and that's to be expected in a time of sparse news. We try to wring every drop of meaning we can out of whatever there is.

I imagine that none of these remarks was intended as something handed down to Moses from the top of the mountain, and that the Mavs will be feeling their way through this as time goes on. I rather suspect that, on matters that Cuban wants to weigh in on, he will find a way to do so. However, we're all essentially guessing at this point, and time will tell.

Boooo!!! Come on ML! You should know from experience that we ALL know EXACTLY what's going to happen!

This reminds me of people currently waiting for a looooooooong overdue "Spiderman No Way Home" trailer.  Marvel has teased it for months and it's led to people making wild speculations based on everything from screenshots of a title card in Spanish from Brazil to something posted on Marvel's Canadian website to a stuntman changing his IMDB resume.

A girlfriend of mine from high school is the dialect coach on all Marvel movies/shows and works on set with the actors.  She always says that anyone who tells you what's actually going on is full of shit because those that really know won't talk because they don't want to get fired/sued to oblivion (or "Bolivia").

Ultimately, all of us, including the "experts" and "insiders" on Twitter are just speculating.

LOL, don't mind me, carry on.
Per ESPN's Brian Windhorst Pelicans president of basketball operations David Griffin is hoping to make a "huge offer" to Kyle Lowry "in an effort to import the type of leadership that Chris Paul brought to the Suns last year in morphing them into contenders."

Well, if DFS is part of the price to get us Beal I suppose we can send him there, but I’d really hate to see him go. I haven’t yet bought my DoeDoe jersey since I want to see what’s new for the next season, so I guess that’s a plus.

I assume he´d be part of a Westbrook package. Wink

I only see two Beal destinations: Boston in 2022 FA or Warriors right now. Warriors can offer #7, #14, Wiseman, Wiggins + X, and if they get Beal + Gafford back, they can roll out...

Steph
Beal
Thompson
Green
Gafford

The way Westbrook´s agent is working OT right now, the indications are strong imho that Beal won´t be a Wizard in a month.

I called this "Dwight Howard 2.0", but I was wrong....the Mavs would still be waiting and making cartoons about Kawhi if this was Dwight Howard 2.0.

It's a new day in Mavsland...so let's see if it's going to stay a good thing.

I've been saying Kawhi won't keep the Mavs waiting.

Nico is connected from everything we know. I'm assuming he was politely told by Kawhi or his camp that he was staying in LA.
Free agency started several weeks ago from the sounds of it. ha

I found it interesting that Lowe on the Woj special said that's not an exciting package. 14 is nothing special historically and 7 keeps you below the top 4-5 that seems to have separated themselves.

Basically you aren't getting a star in that deal.

Wiggins is such a negative asset that you'd need to attach a FRP to him just to make his contract tolerable.  Let's call that 14.  I'd want a few more FRPs from GSW and maybe picks swaps.

I love that the new regime understands how to tamper.

I think we'll know the Lowry situation before the deadline comes as well.

If Lakers want Westbrook and THT is outgoing, and Wizards like DFS...let a boy dream.
Santa gave us tampering for Christmas...

KP, DFS...

How many more Mavs does Washington have to express interest in before everyone realizes the eventual Beal trade was hiding in plain sight?

They'd have to express interest in Brunson, our '25, '27 and '29 draft picks.

Don't believe they can trade pick 29 until next year...Technically we can't even trade pick 25 because of protections but that would be somewhat removable just would have to work with New York. There's precedent for that. IT would cost something tho.

Correct, 7 years in advance.  Correct on the protections as well.
