Big Grin Isn't Pinson just doing the same thing Nate Hinton did last year? Every team has a 12th man towel waver

Yeah, and I actually think he has quite a bit of upside for such a position. The last thing you want is someone slowly getting bitter because they think they'd be Kobe Bryant if only the coach would put them in the rotation. That's where locker room problems come from.

Pinson is perfect. It's clear everyone's job is safe and he has no cause for complaint, but if he has to play I'd feel good about what he brings to the table.

I mentioned it earlier, but is is just weird.   KP leaves the game without seeing the play where he might have gotten injured and then is ruled out of the game.  Then we get generic updates about his injury and then 4-5 games later he is still out.  It is just weird.

I obviously want him healthy, but he is inspiring no confidence that he is going to be able to stay healthy for a playoff run.

He is definitely engaged on the bench.   Developing G-league players are long shots...really long shots.   But I am a little perturbed we have an open Two way spot and the other is being used for a guy to build team morale.   I just have no idea why we have not filled that 2 way spot.  It just bothers me.

BTW Hinton was 6-8 from three last night with the Pacers and have been putting up good stats lately.   Little used EJ Onu moved on to Memphis G league and had 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 blocks last night in a win against the Legends.  I am not saying that will translate.   I believe Onu is even older than Moses Brown. Moses Brown is a HOF G-league player, but I was just surprised we never played EJ.

Agree with the weirdness. I always wonder if, this time of year, teams are strategically holding guys out because other teams have included them in trade demands. Maybe, perhaps, possibly, if the Mavs are trying to do a deal WITHOUT Maxi and/or KP, and the trade partner wants them in the deal, it could make sense to exaggerate injuries and unavailability?

It's why I place so much value on Boban being here too. Theo can get as many two-ways as he wants if he brings that kind of an impact to the locker room.

Does make me wonder if there are more talented players we can get that also fulfill that role though.

One thing that bothers me with this.  Do we not have any of our main rotation guys that step up and speak out?   Is that due to the foreign player impact?  Obviously, that has no impact on Boban.   It seems somebody like DFS, THJ, or even Luka would have enough personality to engage the players.  It seems odd that two deep bench guys are the main personality glue guys (i think i may have coined a term there).  That being said, they do seem to fight for each other on the court.  What am I missing?  Our heart and soul guy is the guy on a two way contract?  really?  glad he is there, but it just does not feel quite right.

PS: you can probably file this reply in the "who cares" folder.

It was very subtle but if you go back and watch the game he got hurt, you can see when it happens and then has to play 4-5 trips up and down before they sub him out. It wasn't obvious but it was almost like he went back to last year's mobility and looked stiff for those possessions. Point being I do think it was a real injury and not some kind trade leverage play.

This is going to be his last one. Would you also give him a full roster spot?

The Theo feedback is a bigger deal than it might seem.

This is a world of massive egos, all looking for theirs. But players 11-15 in your pecking order are only emergency guys, for whom a huge part of the qualification is "Will he be ready if needed, but not rock the boat in the meantime?" The 2-ways, players 16-17, even more so.

The Mavs seem to be paying too much for those end-of-roster guys, generally, but when one of them adds to the mix without playing, that's huge.

He can play.  He was our best replacement during the COVID times.  Chriss just feels a bigger void in the lineup.

What Kidd said in the presser is easily observable when you watch our games.
So Maxi trade discussions fell apart Smile

At this point I’m just rooting for him to be back by March.
