Yeah, Philly is definitely getting what they wanted out of the deal.
I miss Seth.

Jarrett Allen and Myles Turner are making a run for DPOY at this rate.

I haven't seen Indiana yet. Is Myles Turner really playing THAT well?

Averaging 4 bpg and generally just playing stellar defense all around. He's not shooting it that well at all, but hey its defensive POY for a reason.

Also for comparison. Myles Turner has 33 blocks so far on the year. The next highest is Gobert with 20, then Robinson wiith 15, and a 3 way tie with Allen, Boucher, and Drummond with 14. The gap between Turner and Gobert is as many blocks as Embiid has on the season.

Maybe this is the leap that everyone expected from Myles a few years ago with the unexpected twist that it was his defensive game that went supernova instead of his offensive game.  Good for him.  He seems like a nice dude.
@wojespn: Sixers guard Seth Curry returned a positive test for the coronavirus, which the team learned of near the start of a loss in Brooklyn tonight, sources tell ESPN. He went to an isolation room immediately, and thereafter left arena separate from team.
There are SEVEN teams tied for 4th place in the Western Conference right now.

RIDICULOUS.
Affirms my priors that Trae Young probably really sucks to play with ...

Quote:According to Chris Kirchner and Sam Amick of The Athletic, Trae Young and John Collins have a growing disconnect that remains an "issue."
Collins, who may still be frustrated by Atlanta's refusal to give him a max contract, reportedly called out Trae in Tuesday's film session for not getting the team into their offensive sets quick enough and to limit early shot-clock attempts. Collins also expressed a desire to be more involved in the offense, but it rubbed Trae the wrong way who strongly disagreed with Collins' stance. Trae's frustration carried over into Wednesday's loss in which he was noticeably off, going 2-of-9 from the field for seven points with little to no aggression. Collins did try to encourage Young during the game, but he was having none of it. The Hawks have lost three straight and their best players are feuding, so all eyes will be on them this Saturday against the Hornets.

Here's a link to the new Clutchfans, if anyone has some free time today and is in need of comedic entertainment.

Yes, it seems like the rocky start hasn't been a Mavs phenomenon, but rather a league-wide problem.

The Lakers, Clippers and Suns seem to be fairly immune, and I do think this is a possible indication that they're the top 3 teams in the West this season, but I think that 4th spot is WIDE open. Its all about which team finds their stride the soonest and avoids covid most successfully, imo.

Let the JC to the Mavs chatter commence!  Man, he would sure fit nicely next to Luka/Jrich/DFS/KP.  Wow.  I want to see flames in ATL.  Let's get this thing burning!

Yeah, for sure. I think he would set the defensive progress back significantly, but he plays the right position, his offensive fit is plain to see, and at 23, he could be just the guy we've been hoping the Mavs land.

He had pretty good defensive stats as a rookie, then Trae Young showed up.

I just don´t know what the Hawks could possibly want from us? But with all these nasty rumours it´s virtually guaranteed that they´ll let him walk next summer.

I don´t think the Nets go 100M into the tax for Jarrett Allen as a back-up either. I mean the obvious play for them would be to trade the flat-earther and build around KD, LaVert, Allen and the Irving trade return. But they can´t do that, because KD would throw a tantrum, unless they can get Houston to trade Harden for Crazyrie.

Mo Bamba is 100% the available piece in Orlando, too.

It´s such a shame that we extended Powell and that on top he tore his Achilles. We could nicely slot a young established player in the spot (well or a cheaper prospect like Bamba).

I would actually say it is virtually guaranteed they trade him. Why walk away with nothing. He is a RFA so should bring a nice ransom. Agree though, that Mavs likely don't have what it takes to get him. Kleber, Brunson and 2025 + 2027 picks is best we could do.

I agree that Allen and Bamba are gettable, but neither should be Mavs targets, imo.

I could get behind a JC push. Siakim, too, if Toronto doesn't figure that situation out soon. I'm warming up to the Gordon idea, but like him less for the the Mavs than those other two.

There are others, too - basically, the Mavs need to zero in and find a guy whose BEST position is the 4.
Collins is going to want a max contract. Can we fit him, KP, Luka and whatever JRich is going to demand?

Sure we can. The question is if Cuban would be willing to pay the bill.

Yeah, we have plenty of centers. Plus we are in the business of winning, not in the business of developing players like Bamba. We don't have minutes for our own rookies as it is.

So, looks like no Gordon to Dallas.
