Exchanging Christmas presents at the strip club is extremely James Harden. Is there anything that James Harden doesn't do at the strip club? File his taxes? Write a memoir?

Playoff P started sucking at the same time that the NBA quit testing for marijuana

Coincidence?

That is so my mental picture of Harden's defense....or lack thereof.

Shams had an article about Harden the other day on The Athletic where he wrote the following:

Houston begins their season at home on Wednesday, and Harden has committed to playing through this situation. One thing about Harden that is universally known: He loves this sport more than anything. So Houston will continue to rely on his production on the floor so long as he continues suiting up as he has every intention of doing.

I read that and laughed. Nothing he loves more than basketball, huh?

Shams has been writing puff pieces for HOU and Harden through this entire debacle which makes me seriously suspect his motivations. He probably has a good source (or perhaps Harden is THE source) that is asking for good press and in exchange he gets scoops.

Similar to how Woj wrote a piece on how the Pistons are the best choice for Lebron back in 2010 lol.

Echoing SleepingHero, one thing to remember about the big NBA rumor guys like Shams and Woj is that their core business is in sharing what teams, players, and agents want them to share in exchange for information. That might as well have been written by the Houston PR staff, but I don't think anyone actually believes it.

Honestly, this is starting to feel like a Ricky Williams or Antonio Brown situation where a guy just completely implodes at the top of his game and is quickly out of the league. The number of teams who refuse to let him anywhere near their roster has to be growing by the day. And that may soon include Houston.

Yes, that's unfortunately all too often how reporters get access to players now.    It's a trip listening to the old time beatwriters talk about how they just to just hang around with the players all day and drink beers with them at the airport bar because they were just stuck with each other an inordinate amount of time, especially during road trips.
Gotta love how Harden is more worried about people making fun at him for being at a strip club than he is about being suspended.

And now his actions are affecting others as well. Yikes.

Why exactly do we have first game against some team from Arizona instead of a bitter state rival... Smile
In fairness to Harden, the coronavirus contact tracing appears to have started with a positive test for KJ Martin. Still, the timing couldn't have been worse for Houston with several players being isolated at the same time Harden is blatantly ignoring league safety rules. What a mess.
