I like that  move for the Blazers.   Feel like Gary Trent Jr is way overrated for what he is  (and is about to get way overpaid for what he is).    Powell is a legit 50/40/80 guy and a hell of a 3rd weapon.  There was entirely too much Melo Ball going on in Portland.

Trent alone is better than Powell. I wouldn´t trade THJ for Powell. I view them as similar quality players. I would think about Trent for THJ tho. More upside.

Interesting day. Lots of players, who Mavs could use, getting traded. No Mavs mentions tho. I wouldn´t mind Hill and&Mcgee for example, especially at these prices.

Isn't Trent a decent defender (kinda 3/D guy), and way better than Powell on defense? The difference is that Trent is 22 and Powell is 27. Give me 22 over 27.

Don't really get it for the Blazers. They seem to lilke Powell more, and the Raptors like Trent JR more. Both contracts up.

See, I don't think this move in any way reduces the prospect of future Melo. They literally can't play Dame, CJ and Powell at the same time, can they?

I was never a believer that we´d make some major splash with our assets, but if the Pelicans want to get rid of Bledsoe so badly, send them  James Johnson for an unprotected Lakers 1st rounder. They are far enough in the future that Bron will be retired and I don´t trust AD to stay healthy for another five years. They might very well fall into another Lakers transitional period.

I feel like people want to believe Trent is a really great defender, but I don't know what they're basing it on.   His defensive RAPTOR right now is -2.3.   His defensive rating is 121.  

I think it's mostly he has a familiar  last name and his dad was associated with being a bad ass.    Its kinda like how people inordinately love Steven Adams when he's actually Mason Plumlee with cool hair and tats.

Is anyone else nervous that we are secretly trying to get Dipo? Seems like a lot of teams are out on him now.
