Honest question: do people REALLY believe playing Drummond WITH Porzingis is going to improve the team?

If you believe he is a better perimeter defender than Maxi, Powell, or DFS...

Or if you believe KP prefers to defend perimeter players...

Cmon KL. Drummond is by far and away a better player than Powell has ever been at any point in their respective careers.

Another reason is because we can essentially replace Powell with a player that is by far and away better than him and simultaneously get off a bad deal the Mavs put themselves in.

I think the only downfall would be losing Powell as a locker room/culture guy and adding a piece that has a potential to sour quickly if the fit isn't solid.

If Drummond played more like Powell then yeah. Mavs were a lethal team with KP/Powell frontcourt even if the defense was subpar. They outscored other teams by a tune of 12 points with that lineup.

But I don't seriously think the Mavs would play both of them together, which isn't the point in getting him. Drummond off the bench would instantly fix our big man issues. He can score 8-12 points a night, every night, whilst grabbing 10-12 rebounds in his 20-25 minutes a night. He'd be a better option than both Powell and WCS.

THATS the attractiveness of adding Drummond. The only hangup is I don't think Drummond is clamoring to come here on a discount to play a bench role on a non-superteam. But we get around that with a trade I suppose.

Strongly disagree.

Kindof a ridiculous take. Esp now with Powell nursing an injury, but even still, before too.

We’ve both watched Powell play. I wonder if we’ve both watched Drummond.

Do not want.

But, if it’s a cap clearing move to clean up the Porzingis mistake, I’m all for it.

You would trade KP for Drummond just to get rid of him. Another pretty ridiculous take. I haven't watched Drummond outside of when he plays against us, just like JRich and James Johnson and others we've traded for. If he's slow enough to be under the rim when an attacker is coming, maybe he can at least make them think twice before coming again, which isn't what any of our guys can do currently.

Then please trust me when I say: Drummond is not the answer.

I think some of you are selling Drummond short. Is he a elite defender? No. But he's big enough to change shots, and make players think twice about driving the lane. He's not a good shooter or faceup scorer either, as he gets most of his points on lobs and tip-ins. His best skill is obviously rebounding. He's been the best in the league for 3 out of 4 seasons, offensive and defensive rebounding. And he has quick hands as he was 3rd in steals last year behind Ben Simmons, and Kris Dunn. I don't think he fits here either, but somebody that needs a big, will trade for him as rebounding is still a need.  I'm thinking Boston, Brooklyn or Toronto. His motivation level is a ? mark as well, as he's played on also ran teams. If he gets with the right team, that could change.

Ouch. The players don’t think much of Trae Young.
Players rank Trae pretty low.  He might not make it and I would be so sad

for Atlanta fans,

not.
It is a joke that Westbrook is at 7. He is on same team with first scorer yet the team is bottom of the league. They are actually worse then were last year without him.

The players agree with you.
Bucks need to blow it up...
