Come on! Fournier for two 2nds and Johnson is a slam dunk donnie! They better have another iron in the fire
Does Boston have any high seconds to offer?  I am surprised Fournier didn't get more.   I am also surprised Boston is still trying to get Gordon.  I guess if they only gave up two seconds for Fournier, they still have the same offer for Gordon.

I am hoping Dallas is tracking something else.   I guess, although I have no idea is I want to use our assets on some of these players.  Keep going back and forth.

They are having lunch with THJ right now...

Looks like Boston and Orlando is where all the action is right now.

Johnson + Powell + 2nd would work i guess. Magic are rebuilding anyway. Guess its better than buying him out.

Johnson + WCS + Green

This moves up to top priority. Without Vuc it makes sense for them to take on Powell plus small assets. Better than buying out OPj

Man, I really have a feeling they're planning ahead financially. To avoid the luxury tax. I like the player, too, but if they KNOW they don't want to re-sign him (people here are free to wish for him over THJ or Richardson, if that's their preference) then I don't blame them for not spending the assets - even small ones.

WTF is that all?
Celtics had the large trade exception to just take in Fournier.

Mavs may have offered 2 2nds and Johnson.

and they were outbid by Boston because $$$ talks. They don't have to take back salary.

THEIS...get on the phone Donnie.

When evaluating multiple offers of second rounders for Fournier, I imagine that the tiebreaker is money.  Boston can absorb Fournier while sending no salary back, which is preferable to paying a guy like Johnson millions for the rest of the year.

(edit: looks like CJeter and I are on the same page)

I could handle that. I wonder how expensive he is.

You’re probably right. Might be wishful thinking to believe we could re-sign all 3 for ~45 million per. The way i looked at it was that 1) we would play smaller lineups 2) Fournier would be our “MLE” and we just wouldn’t use the MLE while still remaining enough below the hard cap to still use the BAE on a big

Never trade with Ainge.

Just match the Fournier offer. Two 2nds.

KOC and Vernon recently dicussed that everybody hates Thompson in their locker room, because he acts like a big shot and also blatantly disregards all Corona protocols. So I doubt they´ll trade Theis and therefore be without a starting or back-up center.

You’re right and that’s a big factor. It’s a moot point though if Boston gets Gordon as well since only one of them can fit in the TPE. Maybe it’s a signal Boston is out on Gordon?
