If the Mavs trade for Kemba without getting VALUABLE assets as well, then I will officially stop anything that even looks like defending Cuban.
Get all the bad knee players!
https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baske...story.html

"A league source says a Kemba Walker trade is imminent, though it is unclear whether the trade will occur before or after the beginning of the 2021-22 NBA season."

This is the article referred in the story but it was dated June 23rd??  I am confused.

28 year old, career 31% three point shooter, who is a horrible defender?

What are you confused on?

Amico's Hoops Wire story cited a 3 day old source from the New York Daily News.  The New York Daily News said imminent but then said before or after the start of next season.  Which means whenever and does not sound very imminent to me.

I predict Kemba + pick(s) for Bagley + Hield.

Mavs have a good medical staff, no?
So Kawai has had injuries and issues with the training staff at 2 teams now. Plus he was a diva at the Spurs and now appears to be acting the same at the Clippers.

He is a top 5 player when fit but comes with some baggage.
Not sure you want him teaching his habits to Luka.
Quote:“I have been told by a very good source that the first issue became Kawhi was unhappy with the Clippers medical staff because he felt they early on misdiagnosed and underplayed the extent of this knee injury. What does that smack of? San Antonio all over again…

…Kawhi Leonard is his own man, we know this. Once he gets a little sideways with medical staff, he’s going to pull away. He’s going to go to this doctor and that physical therapist, away from the team. Why is it that the team keeps saying ‘We’re not sure’ from game-to-game? They won’t rule him out. I think they’re just not communicating at all with him so they’re not sure what’s going on with him.

He’s gone. He’s going to need some type of surgery. I’m not sure what the extent of it is, but he’s out for the rest of the playoffs. But they don’t ever say he’s out because I think they’re not talking.”

If there’s a chance to get Kawhi, then that’s the play. It seemed impossible a week ago, but now that the Mavs have joined the big time, who knows.

"We need another playmaker with size."

I'll believe it when I see it. But yes, that would be a complete game-changer in free agency. And with the way Dallas has consistently gone out of its way to be over-conservative with KP's rehab, I would think they could make an excellent pitch to Kawhi that speaks to his biggest concern while still offering a tremendous opportunity to win.
I would love this Kawhi rumor if he hadn’t turned down a Nike/Jordan contract for New Balance a couple years ago.

If this is even remotely true the Mavs have to be all over this.

Kawhi+Luka=instant ring.

As long as Kawhi is 1) healthy and 2) contented ("gruntled," heh heh), then yeah.
