I'm telling you, man. I have watched him hurt his team to put up rebounding numbers for years, just like DAJ did here.

Those who were disappointed to see DAJ go in that trade would be happy to add Drummond, but those who thought the subtraction of Jordan was a GOOD thing (like me) would hate the guy.

He's the quintessential "empty stats" guy, imo.

I don't know man. DAJ was very effective in his time for LAC in his prime. Drummond is only 27. While I agree with you that Drummonds gaudy stats haven't led much to winning, I believe thats more because a player of his archetype doesn't inherently lead to wins. Similar to how DAJ alone on LAC wouldn't have been much of anything, but next to CP3 and his passing ability it unlocked his potential.

I could be 100% wrong and Drummond is a cancer to his teams production but I just find it so hard to believe one of the best rebounders of all time (and statistically a good defender), is just an empty stats guy. He has to be doing SOMETHING to be getting those stats.

And are we to believe that Drummond as a rim spacer paired next to Luka's passing ability wouldn't be good?

That's probably a factor, too.

Either way (or maybe a combination of both ways), he has never really been sought after by good organizations. It will be interesting to see if a contending team wants anything to do with him. We KNOW none of them want him at his current salary, hence the buyout instead of a trade. I suppose it's possible he lands somewhere good now that Cleveland is cutting him a check to go away and he can afford to play at the minimum to finish the season.

But, even if that happens, I bet he ends up right back on a bad team who overpays next year.

I agree that young DAJ was GREAT. I don't believe Drummond has EVER been great, personally. I respect everyone's opinion, but I'm just not a fan of his.
That seems incredibly soon. Doesn't All-Star voting happen with at least 2 months of in season games?

Nothing is more valuable than shooting.
I'd throw 15-20m a year at Robinson over THJ any day of the week.
My votes:

If only we had a sharpshooter at 8M per year.
I voted for

West:
Luka/Steph/Jokic/Lebron/Kawhi

East:
Simmons/Brogdon/Durant/Giannis/Embiid

First time I ever voted for Lebron for an all-star but him doing what he's doing at his age I had to give respect.

Mavs should throw all of their capspace at Duncan Robinson this summer and never look back.

Robinson plays less defense than Curry, who plays less defense than Hardaway.

Robinson was 1/9 from 3 against the Mavs earlier this year, and has put up several other games like that. He's a great shooter, but I'm just going to keep saying it: the things you hate about THJ are going to be there with ANY shooter you watch on a night to night basis. Period. They have one of the top 5-7 guys in the league in that role right now, tbqh. They're all going to have bad games.

He is one of the elite on-court impact players in the whole league and actually does it on both ends. I am IN on him....but I do think I have a ceiling on his price, just not sure what it is.

I'm not all in on Robinson, but I'm not sure all bad games are the same. THJ has dumb brain from time to time during his shot selection.  He also has some of the worst misses you'll see for a 3PT specialist.  I'm thinking back to him hitting the side of the backboard in the playoffs last year.
