Mavs need defense. Mavs need a secondary creator. Simmons is doing both at an elite level.

The list of potential benefits adding Simmons to this roster would yield is so long I don't even want to type them. It would basically be realization of the Giannis dream...almost, anyway.

Mavs actually had solid clutch numbers this season. The number one weakness is defense. Has been for the last couple of years. Mavs broke all kind of records in the post season when it comes to losing with historic offensive numbers.

Maybe Reggie Jackson had to get out of Detroit. Dude's been ballin his ass off.

What about all the posts every game with fans nervous if the Mavs will blow the lead...shows our fan base was worried if Luka would be able to.drag us to Victory...

Also can imagine in the playoffs Simmons defender harassing Luka since Simmons is not a known shooter...

And the Hawks may win the Ship.

Of course the fanbase was worried. It´s the Luka show and when he is off or the role players are missing open shots the Mavs can easily blow big leads. But basketball is played on both ends. With a better defense the Mavs could potentially avoid some of the big opposing runs. Not to mention that another legit ballhandler instead of Powell or WCS would really help on offense. Not like both can score of the dribble or shoot.

I guess Mavs fans are more reasonable. Because Simmons >>>>> KP. And it´s not even close. I would take the 13/8/9 lockdown defender over a 13/5 defensive liablity.
