And plays one side of the ball well (offense) and the other side poorly.

I also really hope $20M is not THJ's market in the offseason, cause in all honesty, I'm probably out on that.
Not a bad defender comparatively speaking. He has the tools to be a good defender give the right situation and he's a better shooter than THJ. I'd love to have both playing side by side if possible. He's shooting 46% from three.

What better situation than in Tor with a bunch of really good defenders?
Norman Powell screams mediocre to me. Who in the world is going to pay that dude 20mm??

I mean cmon.

I definitely won't fight you on this one!

Up to this season I would agree. But, he is scoring almost 20 ppg on 44 % from 3.

A team with no inside presence is about a big a recipe for a defensive breakdown as I can find and I wouldn't judge him for being on a team that is in the process of dismantling its championship unit.

Agree. I will say...Gallo got $19M this last offseason as a large overpay. Funny how all these GM's are demanding such high prices in trade, but crap their pants over players in free agency. I guess that's the issue, none of them can evaluate a players value very well.

Nearly 20ppg. 44% from 3. That´s a guaranteed paycheck. Bertans 5/80. Harris 4/75. 20m is probably the market value for elite shooting on 3rd/4th option volume.

it's about their value to the team; not the dollar amount. Gallo isn't worth most of that overall, but to Atl, he was and $20 mil was the price to pay for him.

He's on a team with a bunch of defenders his size, examples of how to do it right, and I'm sure not afraid to tell him how to do it, and he can't figure it out. I don't think there is much to say when it comes to that.
Kyrie Irving skipping the Nets road trip for a family matter.

Just so happens to be his bday tomorrow.

I bet Harden never thought he'd have to carry a bigger load in Brooklyn than he did with the Rockets.

Lol I thought the same thing.  Haven't watched a single Tor game on league pass.  I had to google it to see he's been lighting it up this year.  Shooters get paid.

Expensive lottery rookie scale contract
Bogdan signed a big deal and struggled to stay healthy
The same goes for Gallo
They got Snell‘s big expiring

You gotta wonder if taking off one or more of those contracts can help create value for a Collins deal.

Personally i’d love to somehow land a Collins + Bogdan and/or Reddish deal. Then stop with the soft cap flexibility crap and just build a ridiculously expensive team again behind Luka, KP, Collins and Bogdan like in the good old days.

I don’t want us to have a single penny of caproom in the Luka-era anymore. It’s utterly useless anyway. Just spend the money and go to work.

I see. Apparently Norman Powell's otherworldly season just flew under my radar.

I don't know. Seems like an overpay waiting to happen. How many times have we seen a mediocre role player on a middling team catch fire in a contract year and then get thrown a contract that forever handicaps whoever holds it?

Collins is probably a pipe dream.  He’s a threat at multiple levels offensively and Atlanta actually plays well when he’s at C and PF.  But, if you take it as fact that he’s coming in a deal based on Maxi, the interesting question becomes “and what else”.  They seem to really like Hunter and Huerter.  To me, Huerter kind of makes Bogdon expendable.  A team with Young at PG certainly needs some perimeter D help.

The logical deal to me is based around Maxi and JRich for Collins and Bogdanovic.  Someone smarter than me can figure out adds in terms of picks/rookies if any.

Totally agree on Cuban’s money.  I could care less if Collins makes $22mm or $25mm or $28mm.

Is it bad that a deal centered around Collins for Maxi to me is a non-starter? I find Maxi's role on this team close to irreplaceable. Hard to find a 6'10 switchable big with an elite stroke.

Collins has the stroke, but not the defense it seems. If Maxi is the price, then Collins isn't worth it imo. Maybe Collins and Deandre Hunter, but that's a bigger pipe dream than Collins on his own.
