Yeah, I'm right there with you.

They have so many viable ways to play.
PLAYOFF P

I watched that Beverly play 20 times and I honestly can't tell if he did anything dirty or not.  Or CP3 went for the flop and self owned himself.

Yeah.  Maybe the foul was dirty.  Maybe it was not.

My comment was directed at the totally uncalled-for, sleazy, slimy mocking/taunting after the play.
Beverley was yelling at CP3, "you're too small".

Feeling better about the fight the Mavs put up every day, tbh.

So true. PG looks so, so good. But he quite obviously was just the third best player in the series with us.

I don’t think it was dirty or a flop. The after the play taunting was unsportsmanlike though. Probably should have been a common foul with a tech for the unsportsmanlike taunting.  Don’t know how that compares to the flagrant 1 that was actually called, but it seemed to work out about right.  Beverly did look like he apologized after the free throws. Probably saw the replay and realized it was a bad look.  The Clippers play hard nosed basketball.
So, if the Clipps win the next two games, and the Bucks don't choke away their series, who's KL going to root for in the Finals?

I'll hang up and listen.

The Clippers are my favorite team remaining, so I'm rooting for them.

After that, I'll root for the Suns, I guess, though I loathe all three of the others. LAC is by far my favorite of the final four.

Morris, Beverley, PG. All making first team all douchebag. I guess CP3 is just as bad and the Suns owner is even worse. Hawks winning would lead to endless Trae Young vs Luka Doncic debates and I am really not into it.
That leaves the Bucks. I like most of their guys (except for Portis) and it would be nice if one of the few loyal star players gets a ring. Even former Mavs bench MVP Justin Jackson is on the roster. Not to mention that Milwaukee is a beautiful city Tongue
Kind of want Atlanta to win just to really kick Cubans arse into gear  Tongue

I don't think it's a flop, but now it's common place in the NBA for the shooters to kick their feet into the defenders and fall down on the landing to draw the call, and it's just a law of averages that a few times this is going to go horribly wrong as they end up getting a lower limb twisted and/or go down hard and bang the back of their head on the floor.

The NBA really needs to do something about the fouls that are getting called where the offensive player *cough* Harden, Trae *cough* initiates the contact into the defender and gets the call, because it's really hurting the quality of the entertainment product.    My contrarian opinion is Adam Silver isn't really that great of a commissioner, because he hasn't been a good caretaker of the entertainment product.    The hardcore basketball fan will fight through it, but the the constanst stoppages in play from ridiculous fouls and never ending reviews  drive away the casual fan.  Silver is too hyperfocused on winning the short term 24 hour newscycle, and doesn't look hard enough at the long-term big picture.   Of course, all the media cares about is the newscycle so they universally love Silver, but look at the TV ratings under his tenure and look at the quality of the entertainment product ... it's not good.    David Stern would have never let Durant go to Golden State, just like he  stepped in and vetoed the Lakers/CP3 deal, and he would have taken an L on the newscycle in the short term as the media would have been roasted him for being an old dinosaur and "player unfriendly", but in the longrun he would have been right in and product would have been better.   And he also wouldn't have succumbed to pressure to enact all this replay nonsense, because he knew that at the end of the day the NBA is an entertainment product not some laboratory where basketball is performed in a vacuum.

The replay rules just need to change where there's a team of refs watching the game on TV and replaying as soon as the incident happens. You have a red light go off that that replay team can signal to the on court refs that a replay is being made, then the head ref gets on the headset to talk to the team of replay refs.

Honestly, it can be as simple as the replay refs get veto power because of advantage of angles and that gives the on court ref the out to say, it wasn't my call. That makes the decision happen quickly so the game can move on. It also gives them more ref jobs so their union's workforce increases.

3 on the court, 2 on the televised replay.

If Dallas played them now, the outcome could be totally different. Sometimes it's not who you play, it's when you play them.

They announced that they're going to look into it this offseason:  emphasis on when the player makes an unnatural motion to jump into the defender.
