Was back up PG the missing ingredient for them to get to playoffs?

Maybe more moves are coming for the Kings.

True. But I doubt any of them will involve Fox or Haliburton.

I honestly didn't give it much thought initially, but yeah I'm very confused by this Kings move.

Between Fox/Haliburton/Hield/ there aren't much minutes at the 1 and 2 for the Kings. With 2 guys getting for sure 30 mpg. Where does Wright even fit there?

Maybe they're cutting loose someone else and more moves are coming, still very weird opening trade.

I'm hoping against hope that this means Haliburton will be a Maverick tomorrow (spoiler alert: he will not).

However, this could signal a coming Hield trade. Then again, it could just be to save $3 million, as you said.
Dear Kings,

Let me help you save some $$$.  Trade us Buddy Love.

Very shrewd. Weaver is doing work.

Hard pass.   Barnes would have would have stunted Luka and the team's development .  There are bigger prizes to be won than "winning" trades that ultimately don't even move the needle.

As far as what Sac is thinking ... they're probably positioning themselves to move Hield to the highest bidder in the summer.   Haliburton needs to be franchise cornerstone a full time starter as the guard complement to Fox.
Come on, let's get it going Smile I really wonder which move will set the wheels in motion. Is that perhaps Powell that half the league has interest in? Gordon? Lowry? Ball? Fournier? Even when we forget this big names, there are a bunch of smaller ones that will likely be moved: Bjelica, Ellington, Hill, Rivers?,... Plenty of reclamation projects like Bamba, Doumbuya, Bagley could also be on the block.

I know right?
So the Lakers being leaked as a serious bidder for Lowry is just Ujiri trying to raise the offers from the Heat and Sixers right?   The Lakers don't have enough, right?

It's the LeBron Basketball Association...he gets what he wants and for less...

Not necessarily. If they put on the table Schroeder, Harell, THT, KCP they could get some traction. Probably with additional team(s) involved to provide draft compensation for Toronto. Clippers are basically same with the likes of Beverly, Zubac, Mann. I think trades like this could really shake things up and involve many more teams.

Also this - it has been reported several times that Toronto will listen to Lowry and respect his wish. So if he strongly wants to go to Lakers, Toronto might take a bit of a discount.

Ok, I guess I can see that.  Although that is a lot of shakeup for a team looking to win now.  Also, I am not sure how much assets those guys bring back separately.  I can see teams interested in Schroeder and you can probably get a first round pick.  KCP was excellent in the bubble but I am not sure what he brings back.  Same with Harrell.   It just seems like you are looking at maybe an average first round pick or two.

Maybe Miami if they aren't putting Herro in the trade, only is offering Precious and a few other younger players is not a blow away offer either.    I guess the same with Philly with Maxey and Thybule too.

Either way, I will be surprised if Lowry ends up with either LA team, but they do seem to make some magic out of trades when they want someone.   I am going to guess and say Miami...who also seem to get guys they want.
